I got promoted like 2 months ago, and i feel like a major douche driving a banged up Sentra to work every day. I spend roughly 150 minutes on the road a day and want to upgrade to something that is nice and can handle a ton of miles. I'm looking for a sedan type car that has all wheel drive. So far i've been looking at used Audis and Acura TLs (saw a few Mercedes but they were a little too pricey and couldnt find a BMW with AWD). I'm sure someone on here owns one of these and was wondering how they are for you? Do you have to drop a ton on maintanence, not reliable, etc. I plan on driving the car i purchase for 4-5 years. All help is appreciated!!!! And for no reason a pic of Kim Kardashian

Buy American die. Thanks for letting me know you got promoted, I thought we were friends.
-
What is our budget? I'd be looking for a VW TDI.
-
Are you trying to buy used? new? budget? Some more details would greatly help here.
-
I'm looking to buy used and would like to keep it in the 20-25k range
-
Toyota Camry would probably be one of my picks.
Also, check into Nissan Maxima's maybe.
The others you listed aren't bad options either. -
Audi A4 or A6. Stick, not automatic.
-
I wouldnt get the audi or the bmw in your situation unless you are ok with spending decent money on part and repairs. Most of the other suggestions work tho, hondas and acuras do last forever from my experience.
-
I know its not as cool as a beamer but if your going to spend 25k buy new and get a Jetta. For about 25k you can get one nicely equiped. My brotehr has one with over 120k miles and has had zero issues.

OP said he planned on keeping it 4 or 5 years and that's about how long the service package lasts (4YRS/50K). Essentially, you don't pay for shit other than tires (and maybe brakes, can't remember now...) for that timeframe. If he planned on keeping it longer, I'm sure he could pony up some dough for an extended service plan to cover stuff past that initial 4YR/50K period. If he's considering Benz', Bimmers or Audis, he can obviously afford that extra expense.

My advice to the OP is to go out and just drive a buncha different rides until one talks to you. Back then, that's how I ended up with my Audi. -
Accord V-6, loaded up.... great car, great resale, great warranty, very dependable, very nice car inside and out..

From personal experience, I would stay away from German cars for three reasons:
1) The average shop will not work on them. You need to go to shops that specifically work German cars.
2) Aftermarket parts are very hard to come by. You will more than likely need to buy OEM parts which are very expensive.
3) They are very expensive to purchase and/or repair.
My money now goes to Honda/Lexus. I have a 2004 Pilot with 140K and she still purrs like a kitten. My wife had a Lexus RX for 6 years and racked up close to 200K. Now we have a new one. Neither one of these cars have ever needed a repair for anything. Thats over 300k miles and $0 spent for repairs.
The same thing cannot be said for the Volkswagen and BMW that I owned prior. Those two cars cost me at least 5K each in repairs and, between the two cars, I probably only drove them 50k miles before I got rid of them.
F German cars imo. -
TDI = 40+ mpg. If you are really driving 150 minutes per day then this car will kick azz.

Yea but if he is driving 100 + miles per day then that 50k mile warranty is gone in les than 2 years. Im guessing if he spens 150 minutes per day in his car he is driving atleast 100 miles.

OP said he was looking to buy a used car. OP said he drives a lot daily for work (maint. packages have a mileage max).

OK, I fail. Read and responded without reading closely enough. Multi-tasking, ftl. Carry on. Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.
