I am thinking either Mario 64 or Super Street Fighter II
Any other suggestions?
I only have Mario 3 and legend of zelda (nes) -
mario 1, mario 2, tetris, donkey kong, firefox
-
<< currently kicking some bad guy ass in Zelda II.
-
super mario world for snes is great, played about half of chronotrigger and thats a good game, usually dont last long in rpgs
mario 64 is sweet too, but i dont know why you would pay for them when they are readily available free -
megaman 5
-
tecmo superbowl
-
Ninja Gaiden- your welcome
-
The SNES Zelda kicks ass imo. Get that.
Oh and MarioKart64 obv. -
pretty sure golden eye is the correct answer here
-
Kid Icarus, Super Tecmo Bowl, and Dragon Warrior
-
Everyone's going to suggest big name games like Final Fantasy 6, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Ocarina of Time, Contra, (I could go on for a while), etc.
So some lesser known ones if you want:
NES
Adventure Island
Kid Icarus
Star Tropics
Blades of Steel
Ninja Gaiden
SNES
Smash TV
Earthbound
Earthworm Jim
Knights of the Round
Uniracers
N64
Banjo-Kazooie
Paper Mario
Perfect Dark
Blast Corps
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards -
Not all of these games mentioned are available. Also, there are great new games of classic titles available in the WiiWare section. Tetris, Bubble Bobble, Arkanoid, Contra, Mega Man, and more.
If you like RPG's, Y's Book I & II is a steal at $8. My favorite of the 50-some games I have. -
Punch out (and if you dont have the new one go buy it immediately)
Mario Bros whatever ones u like
blades of Steel
Doneky kong 2 for snes (prolly my fave game of all time)
DR mario -
Should I consider getting the old-school controller to play these games with, or is the Wii remote generally alright?
-
Bah, half of these games aren't even on the VC for Wii....
Here are the games I downloaded:
NES
Startropics
Super Mario Bros 2
Super Mario Bros 2 - the lost Levels (the Japan sequel to the first game, very difficult)
Super Mario Bros 3
Yoshi (my wife wanted it, I don't like it)
Punch-Out
Bubble Bobble
Metroid (Would suggest Super Metroid over this for sure)
TMNT
River City Ransom
SNES
Donkey Kong Country 2 (all 3 are available)
Super Castlevania IV
Super Punch-Out
Secret of Mana
N64
Sin & Punishment (only originally released in Japan, gets very high marks)
WiiWare
Dr. Mario Online
World Of Goo
Mega Man 9 (NES style brand new Mega Man)
Defend your Castle
Sega Genesis
Gunstar Heroes
Those are the ones I bought, but plenty I didn't get that maybe you would be interested in because I already own them on the original systems.
This includes:
Super Mario World
Mario Kart 64
Star Fox 64
Super Mario 64
Legend of Zelda (nes)
Adventures of Link (nes)
A Link to the Past (SNES)
Ocarina of Time (N64)
Majora's Mask (N64)
Paper Mario (N64)
Super Mario RPG (SNES)
Super Metroid (SNES)
F Zero (SNES)
F Zero X (N64)
if you are interested in reading reviews of these games before getting them, go to wii.ign.com and click on reviews and search for them.
Also feel free to PM me if you have any questions about any of the games I listed, or another one that caught your eye. -
zelda 2 is def undderatedd but very frustrating. Paper mario and kirby 64 are also great. Alot have named some good ones and wtf is firefox? do you mean starfox?
-
For the NES games, the Wii Remote is just fine, and probably superior to the classic controller.

For SNES, N64, and Sega Genesis games, you need either a Classic Controller or a Gamecube controller. -
Double Dragon for NES
Bond for N64 -
Any one ever beat Double Dragon? I could never get past the last mini-boss with the machine gun. Made it there like 3 times, then toast.
-
Star Fox was also pretty sweet for 64
