Hey all. I don't know how many OT'ers are actually interested in game design, but I thought I'd post a heads up anyways.
I recently started a website with the idea of developing a community with two purposes. One, to provide a useful, constructive for individuals who would like tolearn more about web design, graphics design, programming, writing, andaudio design. The second purpose is to bring together gamers, designers, and others who each have their own specific skills, experience, interests, and ideas to develop games and other productsthat they, individually, could not otherwise produce.
I've always been a fan of strategy games, and I think that there is an opportunity (with the way game development is now) for a website like this to revolutionize the way games are developed and produced.
It has been myexperience that everyone has ideas. Why not let the people who play thegames decide what it should be about and how it should look? Wouldn'tthat in of itself be a great selling point? "A Game Designed andProduced by the Fans of Real-Time Strategy Games..." I'd certainly lookmore closely at a game if I saw that on its box cover.
If you are interested at all in this, please check it out.

Have you ever heard of gamedev.net? I used to be really into game development and made a few games when I was younger, but it requires too much dedication and time, so I havent been making games in a while.
-
No I hadn't heard of gamedev.net. Intersting site there. I hope that I can build and develop DoZD so that it will provide similar support that gamedev.net has.
