So, its been a month...and even if you didn't post in the original thread..how are you doing with your NYE commitment if you made one?
http://www.pocketfives.com/f13/offic...thread-655103/
I for one have done my 50 push up everyday and only ate ice cream every other night.
Chest is massive and ate twice as much ice cream every other day.
Did any smokers stay smoke free...
lose any weight?
Did Shrub finally get a GF?
WUG?
-
Resolution was to stop smoking. Two total packs since Jan 1 and none since the 14th. Doing well but Ive made it this long before and caved so we'll see.

I haven't had a cig since the the 14th. Did it cold turkey, cravings are starting to become less. I've been avoiding triggers pretty well. Chewing tons of gum.

Edited By: 36crazyfists Jan 29th, 2012 at 07:31 PMI feel good physically but still need to lose 20 lbs. Mentally, I feel great as it had been almost a year since I've had any self control over my eating, drinking, smoking habits so just to stay on track for a few weeks feels like a huge accomplishment.Originally Posted by Sandman_Good

Well done xir.
How about you and I commit to never drinking or smoking a cigarette till the Skins WIN the super bowl..then we binge it up for a day?
Haha no chance I'm giving up booze potentially forever but I'll commit to no cigs.
I'll be drinking when Im out in Vegas/Cali in early march but if I can hold out til then it will easily be my longest period of sobriety since freshman year of high school. -
Didn't post in original thread but I'm eating no fast or processed foods and I've cut way back on pills...down to 1/day or less. I'm losing weight and feeling good.
-
Quit smoking cold turkey on Jan. 9. No problems so far. Lift heavier, run faster and looking better and better. I don't avoid any triggers or anything like that. I just stick to one rule: if i put something in my mouth, I don't set it on fire.

4. get a gf - 8 [ ] there's this girl i kind of like and i know she likes me, but I'm really really picky and don't know if I want to commit. I will have a gf by 2013 though!
5. continue working out 5x a week - 10 [1/2] can I like half check this? I was doing awesome, in the gym 5 days a week gettin swoll, and then I dislocated my shoulder two days ago snowboarding. So I'm not going to be able to continue to do this until I heal.
6. final table another wsop event - 10
7. drink more water instead of pop - 4 [/]
8. drink less energy drinks - 5 [ ]
i just got prescribed that from the doc for dislocating my shoulder. makes me feel real nauseous though. threw up first time i took it. although i was also on a little bit of morphine that they injected in me to ease the pain when I was in the ambulance. -
I have 2 herniated discs that I have to work with. I've been working out and losing weight, which helps a ton, but I still have pain. Anyway, I got a scrip a few years ago and within a few months I was eating them like skittles and washing them down with beers. Knowing that's not a good long term plan, I've been scaling back on the pills and working out more. I still smoke weed every now and then and only drink 2 beers/day average. I'm killing it at work, and I can fuck like a porn star again.

i ate and drank my way thru beanerland er....mexico last spring and came back at 194 tubby pounds. buck eighty at the moment. i can fit in my shirts again!! thanks to fcdunkin for calling me a lard ass in his run a marathon thread!! ASSHOLE!!

Nice work! I have gone all month with no alcohol, dramatically changed my diet and I am going to the gym each work day to do cardio ( shoulder is screwed so no lifting for awhile) and I am down almost 20 lbs and feel great. Short term goal is 50Lbs so I am well on my way and feel great both mentally and physically.

thanks, u2. the steroid shot worked wonders for me with back pain.

Get a job that is actually going to help my career, even if it means taking a bit of a pay cut in the short term. (Obv i would rather get paid more but is unlikely i would get a job paying more) - 9 Havent got anything but i am working hard to try and find jobs. The only problem is is that my current job probably pays me a lot more than i should be getting so it is hard to walk away from. The only thing against it is that it wont really benefit me greatly in my career and doesnt have a great chance to move up in the co.
Save x (not really sure how much yet. Trying to work out how much i can realistically save per month) Prob something like 6k - 8 I have already save 1k but that has just happened more than i made an effort to. Just didnt spend as much through january and worked a bit more. So in terms of my target, great, but it wont be that easy every month. Actually it is slightly less than that as i have just booked to go to Milan for Arsenal's CL game
Until my knee is sorted, swim at least 3 times a week. - 7 Havent really been able to. have been at least once a week and sometimes 2 or 3 but i just havent really had the chance to go as much as i would like
Suspend my Gym membership until i can actually use it again (should of done this about 2 months ago) - 10 done
Actually try and stick to these for once -9 By far the best i have ever done for resolutions -
Im loving these results from ya guys so far..well dkn done. Its not easy to stick with a commitment. TBH..so far im pleasantly surpised with ya all....

im down about 12 lbs but strained my shoulder muscles and havent been to the gym in over a week :/ -
Im actually worse off than when i started this month.
What i was to cut down on, ive increased.
What i was to do more of, ive stopped -
Yo yo Dano....good to hear..We will keep tabs on each other..
I wont be doing 50 in one shot..prolly 10-15 at a time to start...but total of 50 a day.

Resolved to spend a bit more time on my doubles, and my flute and clarinet chops are coming along pretty good. I found if i keep my instruments assembled beside my desk instead of packing them away all the time, they're much more likely to get a regular work out. Cool story bro.

Only had two soda's in then new year, been eating much healthier as well...need to get into workout routine but im happier with my improved diet so far
