Can run the ball, pass the ball and play defense. No lead is safe against them; they can come back from any deficit against any team. They take their show on the road better than anyone else. Eli is playing great. They've got tons of depth. I don't see why they're not the best team in the league. I know they have their lapses, but no team in the league is as versatile and complete as the Giants.
Right now I'd probably go...
1. Giants
2. Bears
3. 49ers
4. Texans
5. Packers
6. Patriots
7. Falcons
8. Seahawks
9. Steelers
10. Broncos
looooooooooooool at the seahawks in 8th fuck outttttaaaa here. Falcons are 6-0 u realize. i can dig the giants #1 if they were playing defense a lot better and hadn't blown the eagles game. -
skins moving up into the upper half of the league with that game.
this just isnt a week in which the giants are worthy of moving up -
steelers #9 tho

giants d is heavily suspect.
bears yet to lose a lead this year. theyre pretty safe. -
Yeah, I do realize that the Falcons are 6-0, but look at their schedule. Their toughest game was probably a home Monday night game against Denver or a road game against the Redskins where Griffin got knocked out.

They're not elite in any phase of the game. They're a good passing team. They can kinda run the ball. Their defense is okay.
But there's no fear factor with the Falcons. With the Giants, Bears, 49ers, Texans, Packers and Patriots, they're all elite in certain phases of the game. If the Pats were playing the Falcons, I'm taking the Patriots. I don't think there's much gap, but I don't trust the Falcons yet at all.
They've won the games that they were supposed to win, and that's great, but they haven't done it convincingly. They could have lost to Carolina and Oakland at home, and those are two of the worst teams in the league. They could have lost to the Redskins, but Griffin got hurt.
If I was just looking at W-L, then sure, they're above a couple of those teams.
I don't see what's so absurd about the Seahawks at #8 either. They've got an elite defense and a great running game, not to mention a true homefield edge. And the teams I have below them all have glaring weaknesses. It's not like there are a bunch of juggernauts in the league, and the Seahawks hung with the Niners, blew out Dallas and hung right in there with the Patriots and Packers. If Wilson was where he's at now when we played Arizona in week one and St. Louis, those are likely wins.
It's not like the 49ers have much more than the Seahawks do. Their defenses are both elite, they can both run the ball, and they both lack at the QB position. The 49ers are a little more versatile, and Alex Smith has done it before. But Seattle is very comparable to that team. They're not a great #8, but given the teams at 9 and lower, why not? -
That's part of why I love the Giants so much. They went into San Francisco and dominated defensively, and they just put on a total ass-whooping. But when the offense has fluttered, the D has bailed them out. When the defense hasn't played great, like against the Browns, the Eli and the offense have been able to bail them out. They have the ability to be dominant on defense, and if that happens, like it did against San Fran, it's lights out. If not, the offense has so much firepower that they can come back from deficits.

hughes thinks the ravens are still top 10 tho. so....
p5s loves records. free randers. -
Russell Wilson. Russell. Wilson.
and the falcons are most definitely elite... I don't see what else they are supposed to do. Sure they've had some close wins against worse teams, but so have every other team in the top 10 other than the texans. -
Texans (anything other than the Texans #1 is kinda laughable imo)

Bears
Falcons
49ers
Packers
Giants
Patriots
Broncos
Ravens
Seahawks
EDIT: fuck it gets extra hard starting around the 6-7 range -
nothing wrong with seahawks as high as 8. theyre good
-
eh, i guess... but these are professional teams. apart from the bottom of the barrel teams, everyones got playmakers even in facets of the game theyre weakest.

giants d looks avg. eli is quickly becoming a top 3 contending qb, though. thats whats making them dangerous. -
What else they're supposed to do? They're supposed to take care of business and leave no doubt when you get teams like Carolina and Oakland at home. That Carolina game was a lucky win, and we've seen Atlanta's defense try and give games away to those shitty teams, all under the Georgia Dome roof. It's a glaring red flag.

I don't agree with the line, but there's a reason the 6-0 Falcons are 2 point dogs on the road in Philly this week. -
i prob have them at 10 or 11.

yeah and it has a shit load to do with Philly being like 13-0 after the bye or something nuts like that. Pound ATL + whatever and thank me later. -
marinersheep is making good points and im convinced enough to drop ATL farther than I was planning to
-
On the other hand, you could ding me for having the Giants #1 when they're 1-point dogs to the Cowboys lol. I don't get that line at all.
-
cowboys beat us this year in New York and people like betting the cowboys. Don't read so much into the lines.
-
#1 giants is idiotic
-
I think betting on the Cowboys is a lot like having a baby.........Mexicans love it

cowboys already won in ny... dallas is dangerous. they may shoot themselves in the foot or they go off for 35+. dont envy any oddsmaker trying to set that line and no chance id bet it with any confidence.

I was just going off the Simmons pod; I guessed Giants -3 and was shocked that it opened with Dallas as the favorite. Week one was forever ago, and both teams are different. I don't see why it should have any bearing on this game. And it's not like Dallas has a great homefield edge or New York is a bad road team, so the line being anything < 2.5 just seems ridiculous to me.
-
I agree. im betting ny
-
How about that Philly Atl line?
