  1. Obv its gonna be Peyton or Breese... but the numbers are so similar its almost impossible. Breese has the slight edge in TD and INT and Comp. % , but Peyton has a bit more yardage and just seems to be the best player in the league every year

Chris Johnson and Favre deserve an ackowledgement, but pending something crazy, its down to these two QBs...

My vote goes to Peyton.. what does OT think?
  2. Who is this Breese guy you are talking about?
  3. Chris Johnson was best player this year, but Peyton will win.
  4. Easily Manning

tough to win MVP when your team starts off 0-6. peyton beats brees but it wont be a runaway.

  10. wow, and I thought I was a hater, wouldnt say terrible
  11. manning is the best player in the nfl and the most valuable player on his team. look at what happened against NY when they took him out. CO MVP this year would be a complete sham

Brees looked pretty good against Tampa also

  12. from Coldhardfootballfacts.com(with a couple additions from me) :
    Start with the raw numbers:
    • Manning: 101.0 passer rating, 8.0 YPA, 27.3 PPG (team) 33 TDs, 15INTs
    • Rodgers: 102.4 passer rating, 8.2 YPA 28.5 PPG (team) 29TDs, 7INTs
    • Favre: 104.3 passer rating 7.8 YPA 28.4 PPG (team) 29TDs, 7INTs
    • Rivers: 104.5 passer rating, 8.8 YPA, 28.7 PPG (team) 27TDs, 9INTs
    • Brees: 109.6 passer rating, 8.5 YPA, 33.3 PPG (team) 34TDs, 11INTs

Rivers he hasnt had a single game with a passer rating under 80 all year. Thats consistency. His Chargers have scored at least 21 points in all 15 games, and in their three losses the defense allowed 31, 38 and 34 points. Rodgers has similar stats. Only one game all season with a passer rating below 83, and the Packers have scored at least 21pts in 14 of 15 games.

Manning, on the other hand, has 10 picks over his last seven games, more than either Brees, Favre or Rodgers have thrown all season.

Manning is getting a lot of credit for making do with less, even though the only injury of any long-standing note on his side of the ball was No. 2 receiver Anthony Gonzalez. Meanwhile, Rivers has played almost the entire season without his center, Nick Hardwick, and Brees without his left tackle, Jammal Brown. Rodgers has taken more sacks then any player in the NFL with 50, Peyton has taken 10 by comparison. Favre hasnt had to deal with much adversity this season, other then creating chemistry with his WRs.

I still think its Peyton simply because his team has the most wins, hes the most established, etc. But 4 other QBs are playing just as well as him and would be deserving in any other year.

EDIT - another reason for Manning - he has no run game whatsoever. The Colts are 32nd in rushing yards and 30th in Rushing yards per attempt.
  13. Peyton Manning

Pretty much any team would look that bad when they are forced to play their #3 QB. Their #2QB is on IR.

Nutswinging on Peyton is getting almost unbearable.

The comments on how he doesn't get enough regonition for how truely great "#18" is, are starting to drain me. I mean the guy is in 10 different commercials 10x per hour on 200 channels.

They act as if he has won 3 superbowls already or something.
  16. The person who should win MVP and the person who does win MVP is usually the same person only 50% of the time.

But for this year - Peyton Manning should and will win the MVP.

  17. I would give it to Rodgers. His o-line was garbage and his feet allowed his team to excel

  18. Peyton will win and it probably won't be close. No, Favre does not deserve an acknowledgement he's not even the MVP of his own team nevermind the league

  22. If you were to substitute a 100% average quarterback in all attributes for each of the quarterbacks listed by StringerBell, the Colts win # decreases by 3x as much as any other team.

    Anyone disagree?

    Peyton 4 MVP

I mean I was exaggerating, but I'd be willing to bet the Colts don't win 5 games if he ever had to sit out a year, whereas the Vikings won 10 last year with Tavaris. Just sayin.

Yeah, the Colts back up didn't look too impressive Sunday lolz. Not to be a homer, but I would say that Rodgers has an equal importance to the Packers that Manning has to the Colts, if not more. The Saints have way more talent than both teams combined.
