  1. Looked and don't see a thread about offseason and preseason NFL activity.

So some random thoughts off the top of my head.

Patriots have Gronkowski and Hernandez, and they signed Visanthe Shaincoe? I can see them running some 3 TE, 2 WR, 0 RB formations all day with this.

And I say 0 RB's because I'm just not sure what they are going to do at RB. They just cut Addai who they signed in the offseason (word is during his pre-camp conditioning workout, he basically just quit, so they released him).

And Eric LeGrand retired from the Tampa Bay Bucs. He's the paralyzed DT from Rutgers that TB drafted this year (his former coach is Greg Schiano who is now the TB head coach). He did this because he wanted to make sure that TB had that roster spot open as training camp opens.

  2. annual lions season ticket holder open practice is saturday! cant wait to get out there.
  3. expecting a big preseason from my boy Ramses Barden

He's going to get hurt, you can count on that. However, I think the Raiders passing attack can be something really exciting. Denarius Moore, Jacoby Ford, Darius Heyward-Bey, plus potential newcomers like Juron Criner, and David Ausberry at TE. Can be explosive as fuck with Palmer slinging it out (with tons of INTs tho)
  7. Biggest thing I want to avoid is injuries. My buddys like to do live draft for our fantasy league and next week is the only week we can get together; so im going to have to watch more preseason then just my Hawks.
  8. Addai will definitely find a home and I'm sure he'll see significant minutes. Pats also dropped Gonzalez and I am not so sure about his future. Dude was super fragile unfortunately.

Colts have signed all their draft picks and traded for a lineman from Philly, who is inked to a one year deal, I believe.
  9. Ryan Mathews gonna be a beast this season

Think Addai is done. Can't pass physical.

  12. Thoughts on the Chargers chances this year, or is it the same as every year they are contenders who will under achieve.

Moore will be a top 5 receiver this year. Two catches a game for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns.

They will have 6 games where they look like one of the best teams in the league but I doubt they do it in the playoffs.
  15. LOL @ watching preseason anything

Its always tough to do anything in the playoffs with Norveous Turner at the helm. I hope this charger team can overcome that and make a little run. The AFC West is completely wide open this yr tho so you never know (wouldnt be surprised if OAK makes a run)

Rivers is going to be back on his game this yr, and even tho there is no "#1" WR, the wrs as a whole are solid. Add mathews in and the offense should be back to potent form.

  18. So I spent the last 30 minutes trying to remember the game where Ryan Mathews would make any Charger fan think he's the second coming of anything but an average running back. I drew a blank.
  19. You must have forgotten that one game where he had over a 100 yards rushing. You know, the one between leg injuries. No not that game, but the other one between the other leg injuries.

Moore is a monster, but there is gonna be zero value in taking him where you'll need to to get him in the average fantasy draft this year. I might look at Desean Jackson as a guy going a bit lower than he probably should.
  21. Antonio Pierce looks like the bastard child of LL Cool J and Fat Joe
  22. I know everyone hates on the ref's but high school ref's would be very bad. I'm sure they get it done before the regular season tho.

    NFL, locked-out officials meeting Friday

Friday could be the day that the officials lockout begins to move toward a conclusion.

With Division I conferences unwilling to allow their officials to moonlight, NFL games will be in less-than-competent hands.

Periera previously has said that using replacement officials will compromise the integrity of the game. And he’s right.

  23. Chargers agreed on a one-year deal with QB Kyle Boller.

Buccaneers wide receiver Arrelious Benn limped off the practice field at training camp today, and he won’t be back on the field for about a month.

  28. That boy good! RAMSES BARDEN. SEXUAL CHOCLATE
  29. I hate the Steelers but I guess you kinda have to like James Harrison.

Benz: “James, are you aware of the story about the lawsuit mentioning your name in Philadelphia and if so what’s your reaction to it?”

Harrison: “I’m not aware of it.”

Benz: “Ken Stabler and some of the other former pro football players in a concussion suit referenced you as a guy that was a repeat offender and maybe should be out of the game. When you hear former players say that about you –”

Harrison: “Who is — Ken who?”

    Benz: “Ken Stabler.”

    Harrison: “Who is that?”

    Benz: “Former Raider quarterback.”

Harrison: “Never heard of him. His opinion doesn’t matter to me.”
