49ers @ Chiefs +3: The 49ers aren't as good as people thought they were gonna be this year. They're still undisciplined, poorly coached and lack any big play potential (unless you call a 10 yard run by Gore a big play). No reason they should be laying a fg this week at 2-0 KC, I'm playing Chiefs +3.
Bengals -3 @ Panthers: I might get rung up by Vegas here but with Jimmy Clausen making his first start I can't pass up laying only a fg with a playoff team against a rookie qb making his first ever start. Not going to over think this one, Bengals -3.
Browns @ Ravens -10.5: Baltimore finally gets a break after playing two road games against two of the playoff teams from the AFC. I think Baltimore will play a lot of close games this year, but this will not be one of them. The Ravens WILL win this game by 14+. The Browns will not be able to score, and Baltimore will get short fields all day long at home. The Ravens have beat the Browns by double digits in every meeting since 2007. Playing Ravens -10.5.
Lions @ Vikings -11: Don't forget that the Vikings defense is still really, really good. The Vikings are giving up 14 pts a game. The Lions are giving up 27 points per game. I don't see the Lions getting more than 14 this week, and I know the Vikings are fully capable of getting to 28+. Vikings -11.
Titans +3 @ Giants: This is a huge game for both teams, but I'm gonna take the road dog in this spot. The Giants really don't play any defense at all, but on the other hand the Titans can get after it on D. I think this is gonna be a close game, but I'll take the live dog in this spot as Chris Johnson could go wild and really open things up for VY. Titans +3.
Steelers -1 @ Buccs: This is going to be a soccer game, but I can't ever take the Buccs here. I think the Steelers defense will win this game no matter who Pitt starts at QB this weekend. The Buccs are 2-0, that's nice, but if they didn't open with the Browns and Panthers it'd be a totally different story, and a totally different line. Not a blowout, but Steelers win this game more often than not. Steelers -1.
Falcons +4.5 @ Saints: This is my play of the week. The Saints have gotten away with a couple of close calls this season, and I really haven't been impressed with what I've seen out of the Superbowl Champs. They can't stop the running game (the Falcons run the ball very well btw) and they can't run the ball themselves. The pass D isn't anything special, either. Here's the kicker, though - before Bush got hurt they were such a dynamic/scary offense because just when you have the big deep play covered they hit you with a 25 yard screen to Reggie. Now, you know they're not running the ball, Reggie's not gonna be back til early November, and Brees hasn't exactly been carving up opposing defenses himself. Granted, they've played two solid defenses in their only two games, but this offense isn't quite what it was in 2009, and the defense is much worse than it was last year. I think the Falcons win this game straight up. Falcons +4.5.
Bills +14 @ Patriots: Playing the Bills this week. There are two keys to this game imo - First, the Patriots defense has made shitty QB's look very good. Sanchez had the best game of his career last week, if that tells you anything. Sam fucking Bradford lit their first team defense up in the preseason. They're giving up 26 points per game and now they're probably going to make Fitzpatrick, a career back up qb, look good this weekend. Second, this is a HUGE public play - I just looked at the early numbers and over 80% of the public seems to be on the Pats. After watching the Bills get housed last weekend and thinking the Pats are motivated this week after last week's loss, Joe Public's knee jerk reaction is to bet the Pats here - I'll take Vegas's side here, Bills +14.
Cowboys @ Texans -3: The Texans are on fire and I think they keep it going this week. This is a game between to teams going in opposite directions - Romo looks very bad, the Cowboys can't establish a run game, they are poorly coached and very undisciplined. The Texans just light it up on offense, and quite frankly the Cowboys don't have enough firepower to keep up with them. The Texans home field will be rocking this week, salivating over a chance to paste their in-state rivals. Texans win this by 7+. Texans -3.
Redskins -3.5 @ Rams: Rams have benefited from playing a couple of the worst teams in the league the first two weeks and as a result they lost by only 4 points and 2 points - which looks very good on paper. The Rams are due for a blowout, as this week they don't play a totally incompetent team that will let them stick around. Redkins -3.5.
Eagles @ Jaguars +3: Not thrilled about this game as I can never get a solid read on the Jaguars, ever. I think the Eagles will be a huge public play this week with all of the Vick hype, so I'll go with the home dog and take the points. Jaguars +3.
Chargers -5.5 @ Seahawks: I think the Seahawks are in for another spanking this weekend at the hands of Phillip Rivers and the Chargers. The Chargers bounced back nicely after losing week 1 to a wired Chiefs team, and I think they keep it rolling this week against another far inferior opponent. Chargers -5.5
Colts @ Broncos +5.5: This might be all in my head, but I think the only time Peyton struggles is when he's playing outdoors, on the road, in hostile environments. Seems to me like every time he goes into Baltimore or Pittsburgh the offense stalls. Well, the Broncos play solid pass defense and I think they should be able to keep this one close. Btw, Orton is quietly putting together a very solid passing game in Denver, but no one ever talks about it.. Taking the Broncos +5.5.
Raiders +4.5 @ Cardinals: I'd rather pour bleach in my eyes than watch this game, but the Cardinals have no business giving away free points to any team in the league right now. Derek Anderson is terrible, this team would honestly be better off with Leinart. The Raiders aren't a gem either, but they should be able to keep it close, and they could win this game straight up. Raiders +4.5.
Jets @ Dolphins -1: The Jets are funny - week 1 they are a dumpster fire and in panic mode - then week 2 they are the world beaters for busting up the Patriots. I've had the same view all along, that this team is an 8 or 9 win team. Remember, the Patriots defense MADE Sanchez look good. The Dolphins play very good defense, and it will be a different story this week for Sanchez in Miami. Ryan has put a bullseye on this team, so I look for a fired up Dolphin side to push to 3-0 on the season in front of their home crowd. Dolphins -1.
Packers -3 @ Bears: The Packers win this game going away. The line on this game should be 6 or more, but because Calvin Johnson didn't "complete his TD catch" and the Cowboys didn't show up to play Sunday, the Bears all of a sudden are 2-0 and expected to stay within 3 points of the best team in the division. Cutlers going up against the 3rd best pass defense in the league which spells doom for Jay Turnover. I don't see the Bears winning and going to 3-0, and after watching the Packers win at Philly in week 1 by 7 I'm sure they can get it done against a worse opponent in week 3. Packers -3. -
Where are the Steelers -1?
-
dont like the bills. Pats blew out the bengals at home already.
LOVE the Ravens. Seems like this situation happened to them last year and they won like 38-3. -
sounds familiar imo

I feel the opposite on a lot of those.
I hope youre wrong so i have a good week lol -
I love the Vikings, Steelers, Packers, and Bengals.

I like the Raiders +4.5 also here. Raiders should've covered last week, but an entire half of ineffectiveness with Campbell at the helm killed those chances. Their defense blew it late in the game too.
I think with Gradkowski in for the entire game the offense plays more efficiently and energized and should generate more points and keep the defense fresh. I think the Raiders win the game outright. -
I agree with you take the Raiders, and also agree with him about pouring bleach in the eyes rather than watching this game.

- I don't like the Bills either, this is purely a contrarian play as I think every single person in the world thinks the Pats will roll them this weekend but I don't think Vegas is gonna hang themselves like that. The Pats are definitely capable of winning this game by 30 tho.

- The Ravens are going to blow the Browns out this weekend. Period.

I honestly don't think the problem is Campbell or Gradkowski - the margin between these two D list quarterbacks is very, very small. The problem is the offensive line and the lack of playmakers at WR. McFadden looks like he's getting better and better every game though.. -
I don't know how anybody could "love" that Vikings line.
-
I like most of your picks, the only one I have strong feelings about differently is the Steelers game.
The Bucs are a contrarians paradise this week. -
1st bolded statement: you do realize RB is not their primary running back right? Oh noes, Reggie is out the picture, no more running game! oh wait...

2nd bolded statement: Lol really? "much" worse than last year? probably one of the more clueless things i've read this week.
I don't necessarily disagree with your pick tho. GL -
49ers arent as bad as you think they are IMO. did you not see them play they saints? if they learn to take care of the ball they will be a good team.

49ers -3

Bengals -3
Ravens -10.5
Lions +11
Giants -3

Redskins -3.5
Eagles -3
Chargers -5.5
Colts -5.5
Raiders +4.5
Jets +1
Packers -3
Reason: I have no idea what I'm talking about FYI -
By thinking they're 2 touchdowns better than Detroit.
Shaun Hill
A must-win for Minnesota at home.
Vegas is begging people to take Detroit.
Vikes played the Saints close and almost beat a good Phins team with Brett absolutely sucking.
And Shaun Hill -
Jahvid best tho?

The Cowboys are moving the ball they just can not figure out how to finish drives. The Texans are getting torched.
Should be a fun game to watch with Houston winning a shootout or it could be a replay of Cowboys v Saints in week 15 last year. -
i guess no one has watched the bengals this year. they look bad
-
Lock of the century.
Jets +1.
Sanchez is the sanchize baby, he's gonna torch that slow defensive backfield of the phins. That inept domestic feline package and the walking misdemeanor domestic batterer ain't putting nothing on that stacked D.
Jets 35 Phins 10.

Yes, I do realize Bush is not their primary running back. But I also have watched both games and have seen that they cannot establish the run at ALL, and so I looked up the stats and it confirmed what my eyeballs saw > > > 64.5 rush yds per game / 31st ranked rushing attack in the entire LEAGUE. Oh noes!!! lololol -
I have a tough time seeings the Bills cover, even if it's +14. The Pats are strong. Then again, im 9-8-1 this year, so fml.
-
I think it's pretty much the offensive line. Louis Murphy and DHB have actually looked pretty good when getting the ball. I only saw one key drop from DHB last week that should've been an easy catch, but at the same time he made a few great plays that netted him extra yards. I think the WR talent is there, they just need a QB that can consistently get them the ball before you'll hear about them on a bigger level. I think the only reason Gradkowski is better than Campbell at this point is because Gradkowski seems to scramble better. With zero O-line, he's pretty much constantly scrambling and still making plays. Campbell doesn't seem to handle the pressure as well, though I feel he's the better QB out of the two if you give them a good pocket to work with.

I like this play as well. I actually liked them vs. Pats but I pussed out.
