Wasnt Jagr offered some ridic contract to play back in Russia or something? Truthfully I havnt been following much of this. And whats the deal with Sundin, I think he sucks balls... but a 20mill offer from the Canucks for 2 years? wtf?!?

jagr was offered 3yrs, 35 mil after tax to play for omsk... fact he hasnt accepted that already- since its prob substantially more then any nhl offer hell get, shows he wants to stay here i think

Jagr was offered something like 3yrs $35 million after taxes to goto the CHL. Wade Dubliewicz and Karel Racunek just signed on to the league.

Rozsival was re-signed at 4yrs $20million which I think is a bit much for someone who is inconsistent. The Rangers really need to give Avery whatever he wants, b/c the team is dead w/out him.

Im glad the thrashers had the most money out of any team to spend, and we have not signed one fucking person yet. GG Atlanta Thrashers, the Kansas City Thrashers sounds not that bad anymore.

Wings getting Stuart back for less than he was slated to make this year is pretty clutch. Their defense is set for the future now. The Conklin signing is good for depth, too.

for sundin, there was a 5 mill sign bonus + another 5 bonus for playing next year, not sure how much cap hit it is. Its not a flat 10mill per year.

Rangers made a nice trade getting Zherdev and Fritsche from Columbus for Tutin and Backman.. Zherdev is a young exciting player. Rangers have been lacking a quality Russian player who excites the crowd like Kovy and Bure did. And hes only 23..

Where did you see/hear that? If true, that's pretty good getting rid of Backman and his ridiculous salary. I also like the Valiquette signing.

Im a big fan of Zherdev.... Think he can be an 90-100+ point guy if he can get a legit goal scorer to play with and hes only getting better.(I know he had Nash, but Nash was injured for the better part of the last few seasons I believe)

Rangers get Markus Naslund..... I know its only been a few years since he had a dominating season.... But are his best days long past him? Hit or miss with him I think... Although I do like him and hopes he does well.

looking solely at the Rangers-Devils rivalry.

it seems as if the Rangers have gone after more skill while the Devils have gone after more brawn.

Not to say they are lacking speed because on the projected first 3 lines for the Devils, they can keep up with the Rangers.

But a possible Rupp-Holik-Clarkson 4th line is just monstrous. Yes, the Devils signed a $2.5M 4th line center. THough he will get time on the PP just to stand in front of the goalie along with late-game faceoffs.

the the moves the rangers have made I think they may be out of the Sundin sweepstakes. According to sources Sundin had 4 offers, Van, Mon, NYR, Tor, it hasent been said those are the teams that offered but i'm guessing it is those four. I think we can scratch NYR off that list now

Good Riddance to Jagr.. He sulked the entire year last year. Maybe he was made that Gomez and Drury made more money than he did or Nylander left but he was awful last year 95% of the time. He is much better as a sniper then a setup man.. He had the puck way too much last year. His two best years in New York was with Nylander setting him up. Its time to move on from Jagr anyway id rather have Sundin at this stage for a year or two than Jagr with this team. Supposedly there is a Russian in the farm System who is supposed to be the next coming of Ovechkin/Malkin (Cherbanov SP?)

while jagr didnt have his best output offensively, you have to consider what he does on the ice. when he is on the ice, all 5 opposing players are aware of where he is and creates so much room for his line mates. im not saying he is a 100pt scorer anymore, but it was obvious after being the best player in the 1st 2 rounds of the playoffs he still has gas in the tank. sundin and nasland have been just as miserable if not even more so then jagr the past few years...
