    Well, I guess I'll start.

    The Philadelphia Flyers have traded star center Jeff Carter to the Columbus Blue Jackets, a source told ESPN.com on Thursday.
    The Flyers will receive forward Jakub Voracek, the eighth overall draft pick Friday night and a third-round draft pick from the Blue Jackets.

    Thank god. And they got a lot in return. Way to go Ed.

    I wish Rangers could have got Carter. Or anyone for that matter.. Typical Rangers Off season as long as Sather is in charge.. Nothing good will happen. And another year older for a great goalie and no help in front of him. Well they are redoing the garden so at least the arena will look different even though the same shitty team will be on the Ice..

    The Flyers have agreed to make a second blockbuster move in as many hours, trading captain Mike Richards to the L.A. Kings for Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds, Gord Miller of TSN.ca reports.
    It is the second trade is as many hours for Philadelphia, who had to move some salary before it could sign goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov to a new contract. Earlier in the day, they sent Jeff Carter to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Jake Voracek, the No. 8 pick in Friday's draft and a third-round selection as well.

    Yeah its called giving Iggy 7 million dollars. Pretty impressive management strategy. Cheap out on goaltending for 15 years and then overreact by vastly overpaying a guy that leads to having to dump 2 of your best players.

    Only way they can make up for it now is getting Bryz signed asap and getting Brad Richards signed when free agency starts. Rumor is Carter had an affair with Hartnells wife.

    I'd rather have a goalie that is capable of stealing a series than a sniper. Look at Boston - Lucic was basically a tree stump on ice since mid March, stayed on the 1st line, and they still won the cup thanks to Thomas.

    I was thrilled with the Carter trade. But its tough to let Richie go.

    Wow @ dealing both then signing Bryz to a huge long term contact. He is a stud but goalies can fall from grace fast (Tim Thomas was riding pine all last year, his climb back to the top isn't normal).

    It is hard to find pure goal scorers, Flyers are gonna have it rough next year.

    yeah the richards trade was awful and while B. Richards defensive game isnt as good as M. Richards, B Richards playing with Giroux, JVR or Briere can be deadly. I could see JVR putting up 30+ and Giroux and Briere being 40+ goal seasons. Will be interesting to see how Schenn and the 8th pick pan out a few years from now.

    Philly just made some epic moves. Love both trades, and they just added one of the best goalies in the NHL.

    But the last 2 cup winners didn't have a guy who scored more than 30 goals. Is JVR or Briere really less of a scorer than Kane or Lucic/Horton?
