Red Wings versus Blackhawks at Wrigley Field..
Interesting. If Wings shoot a puck in the crowd will they throw it back? I was hoping it would have been in NY. -
The only place the Wings will shoot the puck is in the back of the net. A bunch of times. The Hawks could get 6 Campbell clones on 'D' and they still wouldn't be the favorites in their division.

hawks were like 6-2 against the wings this yr
or 5-3 -
Guaranteed this will sell out..
Wrigley only seats like 45K or so anyway..
Wings fans travel well..
Hawks are going to be good and there are alot of hockey fans in Chicago and finally ownwership seems to have gotten their heads out of their asses and put some money into the team. Plus this novelty hasnt worn off yet for the casual fan.. Heck they sold 70K tickets for the Sabres Penguins last year in Buffalo.. These markets are alot bigger than those.. -
im a huge hockey fan, but lolll. just what yankee stadium need, its last event to be a hockey game.
-
lol @ this game not selling out. gtfo with that shit
this place will be standing room only, 0 degrees and fucking rocking -
ugh... the hawk average what 12-14k a night in a 19k seat arena?? buffalo averages a sellout haha. the hockey market in chicago is about 5% of what the hockey market in buffalo is. do u even know where buffalo is dude. within an hour of 6 or 7 million canadian ppl who cant get a leaf ticket to save there life//

i guess wrigley field will be cool. i just dont like that its in chicago. there fanbases
suck and dont deserve it imo. -
Holy cow. The ignorance of some of these posts is mind boggling. 1.) Yes, Red Wings have a better team than the Hawks. That being said, they are no lock as was shown last year. Care to give me 2-1 odds straight up and take the Wings? 2.) Red Wings fans can not talk trash about the fans of any other franchise. The Red Wings are like the Yankees of hockey who are popular just because they have been the best team for two decades. It's the team where you meet someone from say Ohio and he is a Red Wings fan and probably couldn't even name five players. It would be whole other story if they sucked balls like the Tigers for a long time. They would have no fans. Compared to Canadian fans and fans of the other original six teams they are nothing. Sorry. 3.) Blackhawks have a great fan base. It has just been smacked around for a long time by Wirtz (if you don't know who that is, research him- probably mention something about a home tv blackout) Cliff Notes: Red Wings fans can talk shit about their team being good. Not about other fan bases.

The Hawks fans are a loyal fan base but from what I have read, they can barley a low 5 figure attendence for their regular home games. I bet this will attract alot more fans and with future greats like Toews, Kane, Keith, Sharp, this team is bound to be like washingtoin in a couple years, the young guns. I am glad this will be in Chicago.

Chicagos fan base was ruined by Wuertz, the owner of the past few years. Since he passed away and his sons have taken over, they are starting to win the fans back. They are putting all the games on TV next year, something which hasnt happend in who knows how long. I was lucky enough to be at about 12-15 home games this year and the atmosphere was quite awesome. Almost everytime I was there it was a near sellout/sellout.
Over the next few years Chicago will be back on the hockey map, you can write that down.
Heres a link that shows the attendence for this year... look at it at the start of 08, really never a game below 15k people, with almost all being within 18-21k.

imo the hawks will be pretty good next year, much like washington this past year. If they are a .500 team they will prolly get alot more ppl coming out
