  1. On April 7th, fellow Mississippian USMC Staff Stg. Jason Rogers was killed in action in Afghanistan. He was laid to rest on Saturday April 16th in his hometown of Brandon, Ms. I had mentioned in a previous thread about how, as far as I knew, these westboro idiots had never stepped foot in Mississippi. Well that changed this past weekend. And obv word spread quickly that they were coming. A day before the funeral one of these idiots was in a Rankin County gas station parking lot running his mouth and was quickly welcomed to Mississppi....he got his ass waxed. Cops showed up to investigate and the bloody dildo couldnt give much of a description of the guy who had just whipped his ass and neither could the large crowd that had grown to watch this miserable fuck get whipped.

On the morning of the funeral they were suprised to see all of their vehicles had been blocked in at the hotel parking lot they were staying in. Tow trucks were called but they just happen to be busy at the moment. Eventually some of them were able to leave the parking lot and they gathered at a vacant lot to do whatever (pass out signs etc). The owner of the property was notified and quickly called police who arrested them for trespassing. They were taken to the station for questioning. Unfortunately for them, there was no one to question them until the funeral was over because all Brandon Police were busy working the funeral and/or showing their respect. Several hours later they were eventually let go and sent on their merry way. Nice try and please come back!

    RIP Jason Rogers

only lawsuit judging by the op is the trespassing charge since no one was arrested for the assault, what could westboro file for?
  12. Looks like Mississippi got a little more progressive. Well played! Great post.

They sue for everything...who knows? Violating first amendment rights?

This shit makes me so happy though.

yea me too, and my first thought after reading was how is westboro gonna make a buck off this but their first amendment rights weren't violated since where they were trying to exercise said rights was on someone elses property which makes them the violators of private property rights. i don't see where from the op they'll be able to pull off any lawsuit, only one maybe would be the assault but without being able to identify the attacker, theres no one to sue
  15. This is how it should be done. Well played. Also, lot of respect the people of that town have, I love it. RIP
  16. hahaha I'm really glad I read this thread.

    what a great story.
  17. If the events went down exactly as stated in OP, it was very very well played by local law enforcement/townfolks.

No, but they will argue that the police made it impossible for them to exercise those first amendment rights- the wreckers not being available, holding them with no questioning because no officers were available, etc.
  19. true but gl with that
the wreckers they would have to prove were available, even then private service and can refuse service, then i guess a suit of discrimination could be brought up but if the service of all wreckers were said to be in maintenance or etc... see what im saying there possible but difficult
the questioning thing is interesting but seeing as they were only held for a few hrs when there weren't any available would also make it tough that it was done only to disabuse them of their first amendment rights

i see what you're saying but if this was played out as said getting any charges to stick will be slippery at best.
  20. We had something similar. A lot of (maybe all of) our dead Servicemen pass through Wootton Bassett on their way home. The whole village comes to a standstill to pay it's respects and the road is lined with all of the villagers, silent. A pro-islamic group decided to protest one of these homecomings like Westboro does. The papers got hold of the plans and an enormous fuss was made.

We don't have the right to free speech and protest. The police had a word and the protest was "called off"

Your constitution needs some amending (the gun rights are obviously meant for a different time)

    That said, well played Mississippi!
  21. perfect

  22. Thank you. I love this story. There are few, if any, for which I have more contempt than I do for The WBC.

they would have to prove the connection between their being held with the suppression of their speech. doubtful they'll be able to pull that off since they were properly detained and held and the period they were held was not unreasonable.
  25. Just saying I wouldn't be surprised if they tried.

hopefully nobody made any sort of public statement or written record connecting their detention to purposfully trying to keep them away. short of some sort of admission, they've got nothin!
  28. Good post, QS. Nice to still see people pay their respects to the troops.
