Thanks god, maybe I can watch Sunday night baseball again next season and possibly hear latino names pronounced correctly.
  2. I love Jon Miller always a good listen imo
But Fuck Joe Morgan my life will be happy if i never have to hear his voice again.
  3. IT MOVED
  4. Jon Miller is the best play by play guy in baseball right now.
Morgan will wind up on Fox doing games with Joe Buck once McCarver retires or dies.
  5. lol if anything could make mccarver and buck worse it's joe blow. Disagree with you about miller but yeah, he's not nearly as horrible as joe morgan

Everytime Buck does baseball it's the most boring calls ever. High drive to right field?? It's been hit, it's deep, it's gone. Same voice, no emotion. It's so freaking horrible. Atleast in football the game is fast and exciting so he can't fuck it up, but baseball announcing is more of an art, and can really enhance a game. Or in the case of Buck and Joe morgan completely ruin it. Always pisses me off when Yanks games are on espn or fox

  6. Awesome fucking news. Next up, TimmyJoe.

Would it be too much for ESPN and/or FOX to hire a color commentator that understands OPS, WAR, VORP, and ERA+?
  7. I hear Miller the entire season as hes the Giants play by play, so thats why i have that opinion. He keeps the game entertaining, is a good storyteller, does good impressions of other broadcasters, just makes it fun to listen to a game. He seems to thrive when he has a partner who has a good sense of humor also, which i dont see in Morgan...kinda stifles Miller a bit. I would prefer he did the tv for all WS, all-star games, etc..

    Reason: elaborativeness
  8. Oh thank god. Been waiting for this for a while.

OPS maybe, but good luck to the others.
  9. well yeah he's obviously twice as good as Joe buck
  10. This makes me happier than I could ever express over the internet. I absolutely can not stand Joe Morgan.

I understand how color guys would be a bit skittish of 'new' stats, but Morgan makes it a point to tear them down every chance he gets. ESPN didn't get to where it is today by not keeping up-to-date with new trends, and them dumping Morgan is another way of keeping up with the times.

The only credibility Morgan has was that he was very good at baseball and he talks alright on TV. He has next to no skills as an analyst. There's a reason you don't see great ex-players as front office guys that often, and Morgan is exhibit #1. Miller is solid, but I can understand why he was let go as well. I think this move is 100% about getting Morgan off TV/chats (though I will miss his chats).
  12. Jon Miller will be missed, Joe Morgan will not. Now if Tim McCarver can find a hole to fall into, I can watch baseball on a channel other than YES! without calling the announcer a cocksucker.
