  1. Thought there might be a thread on this since the game was released today. Mods if there already is a thread please merge this one with it.

Electronic Arts Entertainment has a shit load of money invested in this. Game looks sick from what I have seen but figured most of OT gamers play wii/ps/xbox type consoles and dont play computer games.
  2. Well is it good? My buddy tells me to get it, but I want to wait for the free Guildwars
  3. Dont have it. Thought I would check in to see if anyone bought it today and what they think of it.

  4. I preordered it months ago so I have had it since the early release. Haven't even bothered to d/l it yet though. Skyrim is just too good, will probably be a few weeks before I get to this one.
  5. Stupid thread title name, took me a min to figure out...you coulda said star wars TOR or something you lazy ass
  6. i played star wars galaxies for a few years so I'm tempted to try it out but I just don't don't think I have the time anymore to play a mmorpg.
  7. I played some of the beta weekends and got full access on Friday. My biggest complaint is the amount of RP'ing for each quest you do. You have to interact with an NPC for every single quest and you make a decision on which path to go down for each quest. It gets old very quickly.

I was thinking the same thing. Are people really that lazy or that bad at typing that they can't take the extra 15 seconds to type out the full name? Especially if it isn't a widely used acronym.

Nobody types out the full name of SWTOR. If you don't know what SWTOR is then this thread isn't for you.

What class are you? I am leaning towards Imperial Agent or Sith Inquisitor. Bounty Hunter sounds cool but I think it might get boring.
  11. I am a Jedi Consular. I played a Sith Inquisitor in beta and they are very OP in PVP right now.
  12. meh i'm not much for pvp anyway
  13. I would watch out buying games from EA anymore. See tons of complaints about their online service origin i think its called. Im not a gamer but I would personally boycott them if i was.

care to elaborate? i havent read anything uncommonly bad about Origin.
  15. Have been playing since Dec 13th as a PowerTech Bounty Hunter. I'm on server Juyo (Dark Side obv) if anybody is going to roll a new character. Game is very story driven, but it makes for engaging play.

  16. Barely post on this site, but figured I'd give an objective review.

On server Juyo. Jedi Knight nerd.

I've been playing since 12/15. It's a great single player game, but it has some major flaws. It has instanced(lobbied[sharded]) worlds, which would be great if there were thousands of people floating around. However, I queue for a server for 15-30 minutes and don't run into another person on the planets. It hasn't been hard grouping for quests/dungeons, but you will not run into random people or enemy players running around the map.

I play at a decent pace (don't skip cut-scenes or anything like that, but I've played a good amount of MMO's) and feel like a normal player will have at least a couple months worth of leveling/ end game content.

Great game so far(story/MMO-wise) and they are going to keep up with content updates hopefully.

Thanks for the review, this actually makes me kind of excited because I was worried about having to group up for every little quest. I am not much of a MMOer, tried Conan and Rift but lost interest after a cpl weeks, and never tried wow.

But I would imagine after the holidays the servers will start filling up more.

If you ever played any of the KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic) games then TOR is absolutely amazing. I played KOTOR 1 when it was first released, never played 2, and I am hooked on the story missions in this game.

Stability seems fine, I haven't hit a server queue yet and I think I play on a medium pop server.

I rolled a Sith Inquisitor (each class branches out into advance classes), I'm going Assassin, think Darth Maul. Sith Inquisitor [Sorcerer] is more force abilities and lightning and shit.

Companions are pretty cool, they do ALL of your crafting/gathering etc... I send my companion out non-stop if I'm running around town or doing easy quests. Harder quests your companion is AI that helps you fight. They seem decent, not a waste of time or space.

Flashpoints seem cool, but if you are a late-comer most ppl will prob want you skip the cut scenes. They add a ton of info and depth to the normal tank and spank mentality that a lot of low lvl early dungeons are.
