I like this show a lot. The fake dog episode was gold.

The Veep has done little parts here and there as far as I know. I think I saw her in an episode or two of Curb. Agree though, good to see her potentially have her big break.

On the real though, HBO's new show Girls is really really good.

After watching the 4 minute super preview of the new spiderman, I actually have less interest in seeing the movie than before. Which is saying something because I had little to begin with.

girl Ive been talking to told me I need to me more diverse in my tv viewing, and broaden my horizons (i pretty much only watch sports/sportiscenter). She recommended Girls to me, have only seen episode 1, but it wasn't as terrible as I had thought it would be.

yeah I wars pretty nervous with the opening couple of scenes but it wasn't overly hipsterish....the one chick that doesn't want to sleep with her b/f, is pretty fucking hot, hopefully I get to see her tittays soon (if at all).

this, Allison Williams is completely unreasonably gorgeous.

That said, Shoshonna is very cute too...they downplay how attractive she is most of the time but she shows off a ridiculous body in the one scene where she tries to have sex with that dude.

edit: it seems really clear that Williams has a no-nudity clause tho, the scene from last weeks episode where she has sex with her boyfriend while still wearing her dress and bra makes no sense otherwise.

Unless maybe her constantly being clothed around him is symbolic of the dysfunction of that relationship and now that they're broken up and she gets out more, we'll see more of her. Let's hope for that.

fuck...gonna watch episode 2 now after Pence's walk off HR. I'll look good tonight too if I hang out with that chick because she will think I'm giving up watching the phils to watch an episode or two with her, little does she know muahhahahaha

anybody here make beef tongue before? I got a hold of one and I'm having a tough time deciding what to do with it. it's either:

1) slice, marinate, saute the tongue. cook down onion, garlic, roasted chiles, tomato and make a pan sauce to go over it. OR

2) throw it in the slow cooker with a few more aromatics, cover it with beef stock cook it all day, then shred it to make fajitas with onion, tomato, corn, etc. OR

3) a better idea from here

the first one seems more traditional but the tongue fajita idea is def interesting. it'll be 5 people eating and they don't mind trying new things but I figure with the 2nd option they can drown the flavor in sour cream, guac, lime, etc to whatever level they want. then again I've never cooked beef tongue so the 1st option seems like the best way to taste it. with the sauteed option I'm leaning toward a potato/carrot mash to sweeten things up a bit without going as far as sweet potatos. no need for sides with the fajitas, just beer.

any better ideas? or just comment and tell me what sucks.

And yeah, given the pathological hatred of anything "hipster"ish and bubbling misogyny on this site, Girls is definitely not for everyone here. I'm sure kellykip would have an aneurysm 5 minutes into the first episode when the main character says something like "Hey! It's really expensive trying to look this cheap!" But if you can get past that, it's really quite good on both artistic and comedic levels.
