Bernie Madoff: $79 (each claimant is to be paid 79 cents on the dollar)

Madoff beat the market, so great.

  9. If anyone is bored... Local Radio station where I live does a secret sound game. It usually gets up to about $2000-$4000 but its up to $9500 right now. They give clues every so often and they take 4 calls a day at 7:05 a.m 11:05 a.m 4:05 p.m 7:05 p.m and it goes up $100 each wrong guess.
http://www.1075kzl.com/pages/4051139.php is a link to a clip of the sound and the clues and also the past guesses.
The clues are really obscure but if anyone thinks they can figure it out go for it. The radio station prides themselves on being a local radio station. So if someone non-local won it would be pretty funny. The phon # is 1-800-682-1075. Good Luck! (Also I have no idea what it is)

Something to do with money is all I can think. It sounds kind of like a cash register
  11. Has anyone seen the Geico commercial with Eddie Money? He is so friggin creepy looking that I laughed my as off each time I see it.
  12. It's a blender.

I actually won one of those types of contests on a local radio station. The "Grand Guitar Giveaway" where they played 3 notes on a guitar and you had to guess the song. It was the first 3 notes that Roy Orbison plays on this song starting at 0:13. They only did it twice a day and this had not been hit in 2 weeks. Got through while I was working at a video store (had the radio on in the store), so while I was on hold there were people in the store listening to me do it, and they cheered when I won. Was pretty cool (won a $1,000 BTW).

  13. a blender has already been guessed. I'd have to listen to it on something with decent speakers, but to me it sounds like a concrete or rock drill, diesel powered.

  23. got a short trip to NYC coming up. Been going through the normal selection process. Found a good site specifically for Greenwich Village. click if you need a hotel in the Village

psyched to stay in lower Manhattan. Default is always midtown. That crap is boring. Who cares about department stores and museums and Central Park and a bunch of rich people. Tribeca, baby, gonna walk around the village for smoke breaks.

Probably won't make a thread, but PM suggestions on the best subs and falafel. Maybe Italian, as I'm owed a meal but Dad's on a gluten-free thing so don't know how well that'll go over. Maybe he can get a steak. I plan to eat pizza every day. Fuck the West Coast for that
