A NYC Cop Officer David London, Beat an Iraqi War Veteran Walter Harvin, Senseless for not showing him his ID. Prosecutors have released potentially explosive evidence against an NYPD officer on trial for beating a man with his baton.
The video taken from security cameras shows the 45-year-old housing cop beating an Iraq war veteran with is baton.
It happened at an Upper West Side public housing development. The victim, 28-year-old Walter Harvin had just returned from Iraq and was at his mom's apartment complex.
The video is high quality and crystal clear that Housing Officer David London led an unprovoke attack on the Iraqi war veteran.Even beating the ex-soldier after he's cuffed.
The officer is charged with 2nd degree assault and filing false records. Prosecutors say London tried to cover-up the July 2007 assault by lying on official documents.Right now the Manhattan criminal jury is tackling the question on whether London committed an act of police brutality or used necessary force to subdue a suspect.
The Iraq veteran suffers from PTSD. If the officer is convicted, he faces 7 years in prison. -
Maybe the war veteran was a truther and had it coming. Ever think of that????

I let him off the hook for the first 10 hits or so.

I will no longer watch the vids you post because all they do is piss me off.
-
I agree with Spanky. Looks like the "victim" lunges slightly at him while saying something that I would bet resembles "What the fuck you want" which prompts his beat down. I think some of the hits were excessive, however I think the first 8-12 were acceptable.
-
If that's only 2nd degree assault I need to become a cop. sheesh
-
LOL Niceguy that image is the titties, son.
-
i hope the pig gets the maximum 7 years

Fake

Man there was just a big ass bumblebee he was swatting away.

whatever the punishment for making up charges is, it needs to be much bigger. saw a video a couple months back of a cop pushing a woman, who was in front of him and had her back to him, down a flight of stairs. she was obv charged with assault and the chargers were only dropped when the security footage popped up. I forget if the cop got fired or if he just couldn't work in the streets anymore, but I know he didn't go to jail.

a lot of people just look for reasons to hate cops, this is not one of them.
Why put War Veteren in the Title? Can a war veterean do no wrong? Only cops can be the bad gusy right?
Why not put "Guy wearing oversized shirt and baggy jeans beaten becuase he made a stupid aggressive move at a cop" -
I would say potentially the 1st 5 are acceptable depending on the exchange of words and what was going on to follow him to the elevator area. Once he covers up in a fetal position, and his partner is standing there giving him the WTF are you doing look, you have to know it went to far.

Cop shouldn't have hit him in the face with his ASP...
-
It's cops like this who go overboard, that piss the public off. There is no defense for him to continue hitting him after he hits the ground.
-
Anybody that stands up for the cop here is being ridiculous. That is clearly assault and the officer needs to serve the maximum sentence. That is so far beyond reasonable force that I am shocked people feel the need to stand up for the cop. It is a legitimate point to say that it does not matter he is a war veteran, but he is also a human. Cops don't have the right to just beat the crap out of somebody lying on the ground trying to cover themselves up for protection.

good thing that cop isnt white
but seriously, i can maybe see one or two hits be justified since it looks like the victim shoved the cop, but as soon as the dude hits the floor he should stop. as it happened that was clearly brutality and assault. he should go to jail, but unfortunately, cops never seem to get what they deserve in cases like this. -
Clearly the cop even knew he was in the wrong. There would be no need to report fake circumstances if he did not. I also agree that his reaction was necessary, until he has the man on the ground in the fetal position.

I have a black friend and cop friend. I'm going to suggest this and ask for 5%.

Reason: brag about having a black friend -
People are justifying the cops actions? (which includes making false reports)

If a cop feels threatened, he isn't going to subdue (beat) him a little and hope he gets the message and stops fighting back. He is going to do what is necessary to subdue him completely. If he doesn't "go over the line", then the guy could possibly get back up an attack the officer(s). It's a shoot first and ask questions later mentality. All of this could have been averted if the guy has simply shown the cop a little respect in the first place.

why did he feel a fake report was necessary then?
