I am not in favor of prohibiting 16 year olds and younger from working on their family farms. and lol at there being an issue about "pay issue". Maybe you have a fucked up idea about what a family is. I don't know. The prohibition I raised was about prohibiting kids from working on their own family farms. While your question might be intellectually stimulating and more complicated that you suggest it is not the issue I raised. Generally I would not be in favor of prohibiting kids from working on their neighbors farms, but I bet you can think a situation that would be stupid enough to say, "whoa that shouldn't be allowed."Originally Posted by killingbird

Do some kids need to be protected from their parents? Sure. Should rules and laws be made based on the assumption that all kids need to be protected from their parents? No.

I'm super confused. I honestly don't know which side you are arguing for here Willy. I think Obama made the right decision to continue to allow children to work on farms (obviously a simplistic description, but you know). And you seem to think Im an idiot for agreeing with his decision to do so. That would lead me to think you are against children working on farms (as you stated in an earlier post) but then you kind of seem to babble on about the labor department pushing in to peoples privates lives, so although I think we actually agree on this issue I'm not sure what you are arguing about.
