So last night we were watching the cowboys/eagles game and a friend had a bet before the game of the final score finishing 31-7 cowboys. With 10 minutes left the score was 27-7. I suggested that the odds of him winning the bet had to be something like a million to one and everyone said I was insane and they had to be something like 10000-1. We argued awhile and obv nobody changes their mind. I forget who had the ball and where on the field but for arguments sake lets say the eagles had the ball on the 20, and then also whats your odds if the cowboys had the ball on their on own 20.
jklghsgjdfgdf; this is mattg on dfish's account -
Closer to 1M to 1 than 10,000 to 1.. The amount of times there were 2 safeties by 1 team in a game can probably be counted on 1 or 2 hands.. To do that with less than 10 minutes in the game left is just sick..
The Rams once had 3 safeties in a game against the Giants in 1984, so I suppose anything is possible, but still feel the odds are much worse than 10,000 to one and 1M to 1 is probably pretty close.. -
i'd say u were right, closer to a mill

agree. i think 18 times in NFL history 1 team has recorded 2 or more safeties. 10000-1 is way too low. adding in that there cant be any other scoring by the 2 teams makes it that much more impossible.

exactly...not only is it near impossible for 1 team to record 2 safeties in a matter of 10 minutes, but having to worry about Philly not scoring again makes this even more impossible.

WAY closer to a 1,000,000:1 than 10,000:1 IMO.
