Okay, so I've been a fan of the Office ever since it came out during my sophomore year of high school. But it seems to me that the past 2 seasons have not be all that funny and its starting to go down hill. Granted I still tune in every Thursday to watch it because it's still my favorite show, but i think it might be coming to an end soon. Like the last episode when Pam had her baby was kinda funny, she accidentally breast fed the wrong baby in the hospital and another funny scene was the "lactation expert" who helped her breastfeed, lol.
What do you guys think about the office lately? and have you been a fan of it for a long time? -
Pam and Jim getting together slowly ruined the show.
-
It never was.
-
Its still slightly better than a lot of the other shit thats being put out.
I'm not watching another police/detective show, so Office, 30 rock, and sports it is. -
idk why, but i've really never been hooked on this show and ive given it a few chances
-
Dwight is still hilarious and the scene of Andy and Erin at her place and her "foster" brother is there and touches her weird and shit was pretty funny too imo...
-
i absolutely can't stand this whole love relationship thing they've been having between andy and erin. I can't stand her, i want Pam to just go back to bein the dam secretary and have Jim pullin pranks on Dwight, but those days are long past us.

P.S. THE BLACK GUY FROM THE WAREHOUSE NOW HAS HIS OWN OFFICE UPSTAIRS IN JIM'S OLD OFFICE. WE ARE DOOMED! at least I still have family guy, and cleveland show isn't half bad if you give it a chance. I don't even watch Simpsons anymore. Also, a very underrated show is Always sunny in Philadelphia on FX. -
one tree hill has gone downhill since peyton and lucas left this season as well
-
I've been a fan since S1, and when Pam and Jim got together I figured it would prob jump the shark and it pretty much did. It's still funny but not near where it used to be (although people pretty much say that about everything). A bunch of the humor was predicated on the Pam/Jim relationship and when that went it was just kind of sappy. It seems like they have been trying to recreate that this season with Andy and Erin, but it's horribly lacking and just bordering on weird not to mention that those two characters are so much funnier on their own.
Also, Michael has gone from a lovable screw-up to just kind of pathetic, which is sad. That character is played so well as the bumbling nice guy. I think Michael Schur leaving the show (to go write P&R) was a big blow, but it seems that more then that they are trying to take the show their own way instead of just following along with the archetypes that were already set, which would be ok if the other characters weren't so good.
I think P&R is consistently better, although that should pretty much be called the Aziz show, Community is sometimes better, and 30 Rock is almost always better (although it, too, has been lacking since the last 2 or 3 eps of last season). -
This.

Well, at least the hammered part.
The Office is still one of the top three funny shows in TV. It's a different kind of funny that it used to be. Characters evolve, live with it. I for one don't mind Pam and Jim getting together and getting married and bearing children and all that. Makes it even funnier. For me.
You see, I am 25 and relatively newly married. With an 18 month old. So the rest of the season has the potential to be gold. Because the comedy appeals directly to me. Young with a baby. You have NO idea the amount of comedic gold that goes on in my houses on a daily basis. I feel like the Office going forward stands a good chance of bringing to light some of that gold. -
Completely agree. The Office went from being my favorite comedy on Thursdays last year to about 5th this year. Parks and Rec, Community, Archer and 30 Rock have all been better.

Ron Fuckin Swanson -
Did you guys in USA get to see the original 'The Office' from the UK with Ricky Gervais? If so, how would you compare the two versions?
I didn't miss an episode of the British one yet couldn't watch a whole episode of the American one! -
I agree that P&R is much better now. I love Ron Swanson.
The last episode of The Office REALLY sucked. Everything was way too exagurated. -
It's not the worst show on TV and I still watch it, but it's not as good as it used to be imo.
+1 P&R > Office by a wide margin -
Also what season are you on? cus Gervais usually has the good sense to cut things off while they're good and end it after 2 seasons
-
the office isn't as funny anymore, steve carrell carries that show on his back now and not because the other actors aren't funny it's just the storylines suck and michael still gets the awesome one liners
big bang theory ftw -
Our version is so much better. Ricky Gervais>>>>>>>>>>> ;>>>>Steve Carell

they are wasting Steve's talent this season, its quite a shame.
-
quite possibly the funniest clip ever.
biggest problem w/ the us version is that they almost try for punchline style comedy, which kills the supposed realism of what was a brilliant show originally. That and Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant aren't writing for them. They can't sustain a single bit for 2min+ like this perfect piece.
"Anything. Because there is no 'right' or 'wrong' thing in this scenario, then we tell you the right thing afterwards."
