Good. I'm not a fan whatsoever of the "funny" awful auditions. I generally fast forward through them because I don't find the humor 99% of the time. I'll report back with who I think is good when I'm done. I'm like 2 minutes into the Portland auditions and no one has sung yet.

Oh and Dyz..I think that the auditions are over after the episode that aired tonight. Next week starts Hollywood week if I heard correctly. obv you are right but i was just blown away by his audition..the last time i was blown away with an audition(im not gay i promise) was david archuleta and he ended up coming in 2nd and should have won that year imo...im sure there are tons of people who will be in the top 24 that we havent even seen yet...i just have a feeling this kid will go very far..i youtubed him and he has this sick cover

You forget so quickly. This was all we got from the two finalists in 2010.



The winner isn't always featured in the auditions since the producers have no idea who will end up winning and don't show every audition that gets through to Hollywood.

I thought the Gillies chick who sang "Crying" was pretty good. The last girl of last nights episode who's boyfriend had a stroke was such a heart wrenching story. That is so terrible that they have to go through that at such a young age. I wasn't impressed overall, though. Last week there weren't very many standout people either. I hope that the top 10-20 pulls through with some talent.

Also, I don't understand how some of the people who are absolutely terrible react so extremely when they get turned down. Are they really that ignorant of their lack of talent or are they acting that way so that they can get some camera time? Just seems nuts to me.

That guy had the fifth best audition on tonight's show alone. The country singing chick, the boy that got bullied, the guy with the alcoholic dad from a band and the last girl that went tonight all have better, more natural voices than the dude you're talking about. His singing is much more contrived IMO.

The kid that got bullied and the last girl from tonight's show had my two favorite auditions so far this season. The kid reminded me of Michael Jackson with the way he paused in between phrases to catch his breath. That's the same sound MJ made during transitions.

Johnny Keyser was obviously really, really good. Other auditions that stuck out for me were:
The boy who was in a refugee camp-I can't remember his name
The girl who had her daughter with her for the audition and sang Faith Hill
Reis Kloeckener was stellar
Ethan Jones was very good
Lauren Grey was superb

Best hour of auditions possibly overall. The first two nights had some gems but overall most of the auditions shown were lacking.

I just don't feel the soul from him. It seems contrived. Can he hit the notes? Yes. Do I feel the notes? No.



You can feel that. His tone is beautiful, and his phrasing and runs all have purpose. This kid isn't just doing vocal tricks like Johnny.

Why is it retarded? Those two I posted are better IMO, and then the country singer that brought her daughter in and the dude with the alcoholic dad were both better. I thought the latter guy had terrible performance skills and presentation, but the bones are there. He needs to learn to not be cheesy and is in desperate need of a stylist. However, he's got a country/rock/soul thing to him that I dig.

I'm not denying that Johnny has a great voice and can sing, but that's all technical stuff. To me, it doesn't seem effortless and natural. It seems like he's really trying to hit certain notes and isn't feeling those notes. Good voice, good vocal skills, but it's missing real soul.

Obv just my opinion, and music is totally subjective.
