  1. It isn't being mentioned in the other thread so it needs to be brought to light. They are expecting at least 40 billion in damages. People are still missing and unaccounted for. The relief effort does not need to wait until damage is assesed.

I don't know really where to send care packages. We have no traffic lights limited gas limited cell service no power. Very isolated from outside world.

if I could bfind a working computer I could show you incredible pictures but for now check out "jersey shore hurricane news" on facebook and if that doesn't move you to donate something I don't know what will.

The last two days I been in and out of various shelters and there are so many elderly people with no family here and absolutely nothing. Multiple people have attempted suicide people are really pulling guns on their neighbors. Travelling bands of looters. Gas lines for hours.Floating houses hitting the only access bridges to my island, widespread gas leaks and fires not enough cops. Etc etc etc. Today will consist of me charging my phone in my car, looking for gas somewhere, looking for a local shower, trying to get some clothes and finding a boat somehow to get across the bay to see if my house is salvageable. Problem is with no traffic lights and school buses blocking major intersections you cant get anywhere within a reasonable amount of time and gas is in such short supply it is a risk.

Just heard Fema is setting up shop in toms river a big hq serving 30k meals a day. It is really straight out of a movie. Please post ways to donate to all victims affected by this tragedy not just us here at the shore. I simply can't affordto surf the net looking for them all. I know u can text to 90999 and donate 10 buucks but you have to type something else . Not sure. Thanks and please share all across the country. Share the videos share the pics share the stories.
  2. I remember my first hurricane
  3. Thanks for bringing this up, P4D. I was actually going to ask the question about where to send help in the other thread. I texted to donate to Red Cross before and never saw a charge on my bill, so I'd rather send the money some other way. I would appreciate any suggestions from anyone who knows how best to help. I hate sitting here and feeling so helpless knowing people are suffering so much several hours north.

Is there anything you need specifically? I'd like to help. PM me. Continuing to keep you and all in your area in my thoughts and prayers.

  6. Text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief, which helps people affected by disasters such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, wildfires and tornadoes.

Please consider making a donation today to help the thousands of people who have been affected by these disasters.
  7. Please think carefully before giving to the Red Cross. There are plenty of local relief efforts. Just use google or talk to people who are on the ground in the area you wish to help.
Check what happened with the Red Cross and Haiti, 9/11, San Diego fire, Japanese tsunami. Just do your research before you blindly give to the Red Cross. Make your own decision.
  8. Please do your research before blindly following cryptic but unmistakably insinuating Willywoo posts. Not saying anything. Just saying. Make your own decistion
