Replay of Game 1 so far. Just switch the 1st and 2nd periods. This is Rangers hockey folks. Supreme confidence in Lundqvist, give up puck possession (this isnt a strategy, just how they are built) and keep team to the perimeter (for the most part).

I don't think they looked this bad in the 1st period of game 1 - they really were incredibly bad today early.

No in game 1 period 2 the Devs outplayed them pretty badly. The first period of that game was even.

Yeah Boy.. Made it worth calling in sick to work to watch the game... Hank kept us there first two periods.. And Rangers turned it on the third period. Seems to be the formula for Rangers so far. Win game 1 lose Game 2 3-2 then pitch a shutout in Game 3 on the road.. (Or 1 goal 3OT game LOL)

The key to the series so far you have to say besides Lundqvist is and I cant believe im saying it.. The Power Play.. The Devils had the number 1PK in the league all year and Rangers were pretty close to bottom. Well off top of my head Rangers were 1/2 in Game 1 2/4 in Game 2 and 1/2 today. . Devils had 1 goal in Game 2. Im guessing 1/13 for series.

Game 4 Monday boys.. And Dan Girardi leads all Defensemen in Scoring in playoffs.. Nice!!


Also the media is pissed because Rangers won they have to work a little longer on a Tortorella Press Conference then when they lose...

What Girardi has done in the playoffs vs his regular season is not even in the same universe as what Bryce Salvador has done when it comes to which improvement is more impressive.

I think it's been shown that seeding doesn't matter in the playoffs. Let's not forget the #7 seed beat the #2 seed, and the defending Stanley cup champs.

LA had to beat van/stl and play phx. and devils had to play fla/phi. ill take ott/wash over those other matchups all day. rangers woulda gotten rape caged by phili or pitt imo, and prob boston too.

Yes the Rangers would have def got rape caged by Philly a team they beat 6 times throughout the regular season.

Or Pitt, a team who imploded and got embarrassed by a team with minimal defense and no goalie.

Boston would have been a toss up.

You do realize the Caps had two of their superstars out for a majority of the season and didnt have a stable goaltending situation all year until Holtby came around? Hardly a standard 7 seed.

The Devils are the 2nd most complete team in the east and made the vaunted Flyers literally quit on the ice. Yet somehow those gutless lucky Rangers are beating them too.

Ottawa is no powerhouse but for an 8th seed they have a plus offense plus skating ability and a hot goalie. A formidable opponent but nothing too impressive, fine.

Tell me more about how the Blackhawks are a powerhouse . When Mike Smith is not playing out of his mind Phoenix is nothing special. You have been severely overrating the West for a while now. did i say the hawks were a powerhouse? are they better than the caps and sens? dont think thats really debatable. they have like 5 or 6 all stars on that team. and i know phx isn't anything special. but can't you pretty much say the same about the rangers.

and i like how people just forget about halak being injured. he might not be henrik, but him and elliot working together were allowed the fewest goals. dont think its suprising that when one goes down and all the pressure is on one guy they didn't do as well.

but whatever, im pullin for the rangers cuz itll make me money. And im not trying to say they aren't deserving or theyre a bad team, im just saying they had as easy of a road as you can get to the stanley cup finals. I mean, if LA wins it against the rangers, they will have beaten the top 3 teams and the best goalie in the playoffs. If new york makes it, they will have beat the 3 worst teams in the playoffs and a solid devils team.

Rangers weren't that bad offensively this season. They were probably middle of eastern conference. It's not their style but they've exploded before. Haven't seen it since game one against Ottawa but its there. I understand how someone watching them in playoffs for first time this season has turned off tv though.
