A 2nd line grinder who happens to score? Yes. Disappointing season? Yes.

I liked him on the Rangers, alot. I am talking only monetarily wise.

For a tough guy who always stood up for his teammates he is a bit small physically. Lets be honest, none of the other teams tough guys are scared of Brandon Prust. He was def a good PK guy tho

there is a difference between injured and hurt. Everyone is hurt, Gaborik was injured

I think your all missing my point. But whatever. I'm not comparing players. If you think AAron Asham will do a better job than Prust fine. I don't see how 2.5 mil is a huge contract for a guy who teammates love and does his job. There are certainly a lot more overpaid guys in the league. Heck they pay Wade Redden 6 mil a year to be the Third Defensman in Hartford.

Again, because there are worse contracts out there, doesn't make it a good, or even neutral one. These Dubinsky and Redden comparisons are completely pointless.

I don't see what's so hard to understand that in a cap system, spending that amount of money on a player in his role is completely unnecessary. Ryan Jones is a great locker room guy for the Oilers, who "does his job" and even scores more than Prust. Would I spend $2.5mm on him? Fuck no, it's not a $2.5mm job.

After looking at some of the rumors floating around I think the best course of action for the Sabres is to trade for Bobby Ryan and then fill the hole left at center by the departure of Roy or Hodgson with Jokinen. It looks like today will have a lot more action than yesterday.
