As much as I love seeing Philly's name mentioned (must be an ego thing or something), I wouldn't want them to disrupt what they have going on by trading several players/prospects/picks for 1 amazing player.

Now I agree with the statement but whats your reasoning? The list was put together by him so I assume he'd be ok coming to motown. I dont think its going to happen because of the rumored cost to bring him here. I read last week that CLB wants Franzen, Filppula, B Smith, Nyquist and multiple picks. While hes clearly going to cost quite a bit that price is something only a fool would pay. I'd love to see Nash in the ol red and white but not for that.
-
I think that may be a hurdle but not a deal breaker. I'm sure if they overpaid for him they would get him, but I hope they don't do something stupid to pull it off.
-
Teemu Selanne is coming back for another year.
-
holy smokes that is what was rumoured to be what they wanted?!? looool thats fcked, get real CLB, that is hilarious
-
I dunno if I would even do Franzen + a 1st rounder for Nash.
-
exactly
-
Yeah, he has to be posturing. If hes gonna do that though shouldn't he start a little more realistically? I mean I wouldn't touch that deal for the Rangers or the Wings. The price will clearly drop, I'm curious to see by how much.

Scott Stevens named New Jersey Devils' Assistant Coach.

New Jersey Head Coach Peter Deboer was the head coach of the Kitchener Rangers in the OHL and won the franchise's second Memorial Cup in 2003.
Scott Stevens played for Kitchener when they won the franchise's first Memorial Cup in 1982.

I wouldnt trade Kreider for Nash straight up. LOL Columbus.
-
The kid showed some promise in the playoffs but it's Rick Nash. I would snap take that deal.
-
if the wings cant get a good deal this year. im totally ok with standing pat and then going hard at the free agent market again the next year when its again going to have some really top notch talent

Nash's numbers have been declining (slightly) for the last 4 years. Not a good sign for a 28 year old who makes 7.8 mil.
Ill take the 21 year old who is just about the same size, faster, with an infinite ceiling, and makes a sixth of what Nash does. -
Krieder obv has talent and had a damn fine playoff but infinite ceiling? Not straight up for Nash? You may be looking through homer goggles. I doubt the slight decline from Nash is anything but him being tired of playing for a shit team with no direction.
-
What the hell is up with Semin? Seems like no one wants to sign this guy huh
-
Taking contracts into consideration, there is no way I trade Kreider for Nash.
Take it for what it is. -
Im not a big Semin fan but the fact that he didnt have such a great season has a lot to do with Hunter cutting down his ice time this year and playing his 3rd and 4th line players over his top forwards. That being said, a lot of people bash him for his defense and inconsistency. I actually watched NHL network recap the other day and they were saying he is a +94 in his past few seasons which ranks 4th best in the league. Im pretty sure if you give him his ice time and put him on a line with a good center like crosby or datsyuk he will do some damage.
-
That's fair. The salary is def a concern and a legit one. As someone else said tho Nash's dwindling numbers probably has more to do with his situation than him declining as a player. And let's not overestimate Kreider's potential here. He'll probably be a solid NHLer but it's highly unlikely that he'll ever get to that elite level.

My thinking is that the Rangers are one of those teams where that one piece may give them that extra push to a Stanley Cup next year but aren't going to have as good a chance with their current roster. It depends on how you rate their future. As a Canucks fan I want to see some ridiculous push for a big deal in the next season or two because I feel that our future after that looks pretty bleak but right now we're in that same position where one big move could put us over the top. The new NHL seems to be all about making the push at the right time and now seems like the right time for the Rangers to make that push. -
As a caps fan I'd love to see what he could do with Ribiero at center but he's not gonna be in Washington anymore. He may be a top 5 player in the league skill-wise but dude only shows up for 20 games a season.
I hope he goes west cuz I got a suspicion that he will light up the caps for the rest of his career. -
Exactly. Kreider if he's lucky will score half the goals in his career that Rick Nash will. I don't have any faith in the Rangers evaluators of offensive talent if you see the track record in the last 15 years or so. Nash would be revitalized leaving Columbus where he's had zero support his entire career. I know me and P4D disagree on a lot of things on the Rangers but this is a team that desperately needs an infusion of real offensive talent. I'd rather take my chances with Nash a proven commodity then Kreider. He scored a few goals in playoffs yes but who knows what he will become. I hope I'm wrong and Kreider becomes a bonafide star but he will more likely become the Stepan/Dubinsky/Korpikiski/Dawes/Brendl/Lundmark/Malhotra type . Decent 3rd line forwards but not Rick Nash.
