**PGA CHAMPIONSHIP**
Kiwah Island Golf Course

Looks more like a British Open course than Royal Lytham a month ago. Good luck in those 1200 bunkers!
Here's the current odds from Bovada today:
Tiger Woods 8/1
Rory McIlroy 18/1
Luke Donald 18/1
Lee Westwood 20/1
Adam Scott 28/1
Jason Dufner 28/1
Justin Rose 28/1
Webb Simpson 33/1
Dustin Johnson 33/1
Steve Stricker 33/1
Matt Kuchar 33/1
Keegan Bradley 33/1
Phil Mickelson 40/1
Bubba Watson 40/1
Jim Furyk 40/1
Rickie Fowler 50/1
Ernie Els 50/1
Not bad odds on Lefty and defending PGA Champ Keegan Bradley! (40/1 and 33/1) -
A lil early for this thread but w/e. Phil has been all over the place and I don't think him or Tiger have a shot. I like value in Furyk to come back . He hits it as str8 as anyone and that is the key this week. Dramatic win week after a collapse. Also like Stricker and DJ at 33-1 who is from the area.

The 16th teeshot looks like the bagger vance 18th tee shot

The course will dictate the winner more than years past I think. What do you guys think about some Euros? Maybe McDowell... coming off two top 3 finishes the last two majors.
-
lol @ Tiger 8/1......it aint just a river folks.....
-
fwiw there are no bunkers if i recall correctly because its too confusing after dj....
dufner makes up for last years capitulation.
course is ridic tough and he hits it rediculously good -

Rory is a who knows...
If the wind is blowing, guys who hit it high like Bubba and Keegan Bradley are not going to fare well. Phil can't hit a fairway to begin with, so it doesn't matter much for him. -
You are foolish as usual here, just wait and see.

Ive got bets on :
Steve Stricker
Jim Furyk
Jason Dufner
Zach Johnson
Luke Donald (I dunno, I thought 18 to 1 was a good bet)
Vijay Singh - not that I think he's gonna win, but he's coming off back-to-back top 10s. His swing looks great right now and I thought his putting stroke looked pure all week at the Canadian - he & his caddie just werent reading the greens well at all. If he can fix that & avoid disaster scores, I think he's got a shot. Much better chance than the 125 to 1 odds I bought him at. I saw today that MGM lowered him to.60/1 so looks like somebody else is thinking the same.
I like McDowell and Rose too. If I made one more bet, I think itd be Rose -
Think John Daly will be in the final group on Sunday.

lol @ as usual, considering who I'm talking to. that's rich.
I am not predicting anything for Tiger, just saying that him being the favorite makes perfect sense. he has won the most out of any active golfers, and he has won the most during this season. books are also heavily exposed to Tiger action and must keep his number lower. if you weren't so anti-Tiger, maybe you could grasp this simple concept. -
When I say Tiger has no chance he obv does, I just think this course sets up terrible for him. Tiger is always going to be the favorite whether the books think he is or not, the same way that the oddsmakers add a couple points to the Cowboys, Lakers, Yankees, and other teams that Joe Public favors to make sure they don't get killed or at least make bettors pay premium on those teams.

I am not going to say hk is wrong but Waco is def right here. -
Daly has been playing solid all year....Not sure if serious but like his chances alot more then alot of the other former winners that get in here automatically.
Too much water though....he always has those twice in the drink holes -
would be nice if he just makes top ten considering he's pretty much out of exemptions on the PGA tour
-
course is flat out filthy when conditions are right. was going to play it last time i went to Kiawah (great, chill vaca spot) but alas it was under construction (I run bad).

Dufner

I think there's a little bit of a British Open feel to the course. In the '97 World Cup played there, Ireland (Harrington/McGinley) won, with Scotland (Montgomerie/Russell) finishing second. While South Africa won the '03 event, Great Britain (Casey/Rose) took 2nd.
And as we know, the course is said to be as much affected by the wind as courses in the UK.
Johnson, a native of South Carolina, is coming off a top 10 at the Open and a top 20 last week. He's finished in the top 15 his past three British Opens (top 10 the past two years), and despite a missed cut at last year's PGA, had two top tens in '09 and '10. Add in the fact that he bombs the ball off the tee, and I think he should absolutely be one of the favorites this week.
