I can only speculate why the networks would choose this game for monday night... who wants to watch a game that's over after the first quarter? let's face it, this bears team is horrible. if it werent for them having probably the softest first 4 games of any team this year, theyre 0-4. they squeeked out wins against atlanta and carolina, 2 hopeless pits of football despair. seriously, if you cant beat the bears you have to be one of the worst teams in the league. and they got hammered by the saints and packers. the saints just arent as good as people think. yea, theyre 4-1, but partly because they got to play the bears. not only is it a free win, but it helps build momentum into the next week. and i know the packers are defending champs, but it's not last year anymore. im not saying theyre not playoff contenders, they have a shot... after all theyre 5-0 and they only got to play the bears once, but you need to look at more than records, you know?

that said, the lions are off to an amazing start. undefeated. what more proof do you need that theyre the real deal? matt stafford is the future of the nfl. he looked completely rejuvented last year and his td/shoulder injury ratio has improved dramatically this season. and now that peytons down, stafford seems to be a lock for favres soon to be former record for consecutive games started. and hes got weapons--of course we all know how good megatron is, but shredder, skeletor and the other 1980s cartoon villains cant be underestimated.

it's not hype, so far the lions have mowed down the bucs, who came into the week in first place. they also beat the defending afc west champion chiefs, the 3rd best team in the nfc north, and we all saw last week as they steamrolled future hofer tony romo and the cowboys. admittedly, i missed the first hour and half of that game, but i assume it was just as dominating of a performance by stafford and co. ive yet to see any indication that this team has any weaknesses on either side of the ball. and judging by the top tier opponents theyve already dominated, id say the 72 dolphins are in for a serious sweat.

so hopefully you all like me have made the lions your suicide pick and taken out loans against your homes, cars and children, because at -5 you can easilly and safely double your net worth in just 3 hours. just make sure you tune in before the lions first drive, you dont wanna miss the only part of the game thats close, because the only thing the bears have a shot at winning here is the coin toss(heads, btw).

This is the perfect setting for a letdown game for the Lions, first prime time game in ages and it's against a division rival. If Peppers can make himself a physical presence tonight and not let Stafford pick out his wr's with ease the Bears stay in this thing til the end. Hester is good for a td tonight too on special teams, Forte will have a 50+ yd td run, now only if Cutler can make smart decisions and not force passes, no predictions on that front tho.
