This. Silva rocked him with a right and that allowed him to throw on the triangle but when he stood Silva locked up the arm. Pretty sure it was tap or have his arm shattered. Helluva fight tho

Never been so pissed off after a fight. Absolutely cannot stand Silva at all. Pound for pound greatest fighter my dick. Learn to wrestle better rather than just barely squeaking out a submission. This fight left a fucking sour taste in my mouth I've been wanting to see Silva go down so bad.

Sonnen did a great job of selling the fight and he did a great job inside the octagon. Silva is world class at that jujitsu shit and just about anyone can get caught in something like that. That being said, I think this was Sonnen's one shot in the spotlight and in a year, he'll be just another guy who got caught in the spider web. Very entertaining though.

You suck, shut up. Silva took a beating for 20 something minutes and didn't have one scratch or drop of blood. He is a freak. He got like 5 blows in the whole match and the other guy looked like his face was peeling off. Fuck you.

That has to be an immediate rematch. I usually don't fault guys for "making excuses" as it's usually just answering a question and I like hearing the explanation, but it was pretty gay for Silva to bring up his injury right after he won the fight when he was just asked about the final round. If he was specifically asked WTF happened during the post-fight press conference it would be less douchy.

+1 to I think he tapped to the armbar, but why should he not tap to a choke? He wasn't getting out of it. Also it's not that amazing that Silva wasn't bleeding. There weren't that many real power shots and guys just show damage differently; it doesn't mean they don't feel it. He got dropped twice. Fedor gets cut every fight.

It must suck for Dos Santos and Nelson to sit in the back thinking they have 75-100k coming their way if the monster favorite can just finish the fight early and then the best fight of the year happens.

To me sonnen is the middlewieght version of jake shields in some ways, he is a great wrestler and can get his opponent on his back but poses no threat of being able to finish the fight, sometimes this works, but when you cannot finish fights you are giving your opponent 5 rounds to finish you, especially when the guy is a black belt in bjj.
