  1. Yeah I should have spelled it out better. I was tring to talk about guys like De la Hoya, Pacqiao, Mayweather. I didn't know fighters lasted that long. Thought they were around for like 3-4 years. Seems like I'm always hearing new names but I'm not really paying too much attention. I might watch more UFC if I didn't have to pay for it/search for free feeds

Boxing is about dead now anyways. I think people are just waiting for the Pacman Money fight to get done. When those two are gone, there will be a pretty big hole.

  2. im sure there are some great up and coming fighters in boxing but the average fan just has no idea who they are because boxing does such a terrible job of growing their sport imo.

Randy Couture would like a word with you...

  4. heh, randy couture only really fought for about 15 years though didnt he? he didnt get involved until he was in his 30s
  5. Respect to Vitor for hanging in there for 4 rounds. Thats 3 1/2 rounds more than I thought he would last. Damn I near jumped out of my chair when he latched that arm bar on Jones!

if you're willing to throw out his entire international wrestling career than yes he started at 34.

  7. Was listening to TSN1050 on the way to the bar to watch the show. Mike Chiappetta was talking about how the UFC was putting on 38 shows this year (TV and PPVs), and more for 2013. Think there is something to the saturatiuon argument. I think a PPV every month is fine, but every other month would increase the anticipation factor. I like the way the PPVs are set up with 2 hours of fre prelims on TV leading into the main card. Wish the FOX deal did not make the free viewing a pain in the ass for cheap bastards like me, but that is my problem, not Dana's. Totally lost interest in TUF these days, and that used to be destination viewing for me when it was on Spike. Probably would be again if it were on the main FOX network, but meh . . .
  8. i have no idea why this video exists, but its ed o'neill (al bundy) with ryron and rener gracie discussing the finer points of the bjj involved in the belfort/jones fight. apparently ed has been training bjj with the gracies for 22 years

  11. I was hoping it was broke and needed surgery. Im trying to find reasons to still like this kid.

I think not tapping after having something broke then battling through for the win would make up for the Sonnen back down

  12. downbylaw making good posts left and right itt

Also I agree that they are saturating the market a bit much. 38 shows is too many. Make it 12 PPVs and some free fox and fueltv cards and those 12 PPVs would all sell over a mill imo.

I'd like it to go back to how it was a couple years ago where there was 3 dynamite fights on every card.
  13. it's a christmas miracle, voor33s is agreeing with things i say
