old beer in fridge- still good?

    ok this is a question that I have always been wondering about: how long does beer keep in the fridge before it goes bad(tastes different)? and I'm talking about good beer, not cheap light beer that tastes like shit always.

    My dad doesn't drink that often. I know he had a 12 pack of Sam Adams in the fridge one Christmas he got as a gift. It was there when I went to visit in September, so about 9 months, and it was fine. So yeah, if you're talking about more than 9 months, not sure why it would be there?

    My friends know when it's poker night at my house to bring some beer because anything I have in the fridge could be old as hell. I never drink it so it just sits in the spare fridge aging.

    people come over to hang out

    they bring beer that they "like"...however they end up drinking all my beer and the stuff they brought remains untouched. then it gets left at the bottom of the beer drawer for months because stuff I like comes and is consumed quickly.

    Just open one and taste it. Obv if it taste bad spit out so you aint gettin sick! Skunk beer is the worse. Trust me bad experience.

    Whenever you buy import beers anywhere, they are going to be much older than the regular domestics. Mainly because most people drink piss. At the bar I used to run some of the imports had been in the cooler for 6-8 months. I would drink them after work, they tasted slightly skunk but not enough to notice if you'd already had a few.

    My grandmother had rockyroad ice cream in the fridge for several years. She ate it and lived to die of other causes. Pretty sure if ice cream is good for better than 24 months the beer won't hurt you too badly.

    Invite greeson over for football saturday and problem solved imo.

    In high school, I once had a Budweiser that was a good 2 years past the expiration date (should've noticed the can was a different model) and it tasted exactly like a fresh Heineken.
