  1. I called to say how dumb it was of Dwight Lowery to not fall on the ball when he made a pick with 1:30 left in the game with Minnesota having no timeouts. If he does, the Jets take three knees and it is over. Instead he ran it in for the pick 6. Minnesota could have scored quick and onside kicked it down 9 with 1:30 left. I know this is super unlikely to happen, but it is possible.

They vehemently disagreed with me, said it was ridiculous and I was going to be the last phone in, but they couldn't end the show with that "yo-yo caller." Overall, I'm ecstatic, because there is no higher honor than being ridiculed by sportscaster who are notoriously the biggest wind bags on the face of the earth!!

edit: quote from Dwight Lowery “Ideally in that situation it’s better to get down. But the way I got the interception was on the run and I just instinctively went to the end zone,”

  2. I had jets -4, SHIPPPPP, more fun to score anyway how many chances you get at a pick6?
  3. the fact that it's more likely for the Vikings to get a TD and FG with 1:30 left than it is of Sanchez fumbling a snap and having it returned for a TD makes you 100% right, congrats

  5. One time David stern answered my question on a live chat on espn

    yeah, no one cares
  6. lol brilliant

  7. the temptation to score there will always win out...
  8. Your right but I had Jets fantasy D/ST and needed those points

  9. u are 100% correct in ur assessment... I was also thinking about that LSU kicker who threw ball when his knee is on the ground.. In college when ur knee is down , the ball is dead but they don't do that here... Just a point

every kick would be blown dead before the kicker could even kick the ball if it worked like that

    THAT WAS YOU?????

    HAHAHA

I caught that on the drive home. Buttle ripped you to shreds. One thing he was right about was that after a big win like that, the focus needs to be on the win. You were technically correct tho.
  12. the DRC touchdown in the cardinals/saints game was much worse

What exactly do these things have to do with each other?
  14. Not to even mention the scenario of the Jet missing the extra point and then the Vikings have the ball with 1:30 on the clock down just 1 possession.

I don't understand why/how the fuck they could consider you opinion on this to be a "yo-yo caller" remark. They must be pretty fucking retarded/bad at math/not comprehend optimal football strategy if they serious disagreed with you about it.

You get to burn 40 seconds of the clock per kneel, so 120 seconds from kneeling it on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down, so, since there were only 92 seconds left in the game, they could have 100.0% guaranteed themselves a win if Lowery had lied down on the ball after his pick and they QB kneeled the clock out afterwards.

Instead, they gave the Vikings around a 1-2% chance of winning by doing it this way, which might sound insignificant, but really isn't. 1-2% of turning what could've been a 100.0% guaranteed win into a loss is pretty gross. Let's say each win is worth like 20 million dollars to the team or something, he basically just threw away several hundred thousand dollars of team money, ev-wise, by being all mathematically gheytarded and not lying down with it instead of running it back.

That said, I can understand how Lowery could make this error in optimal strategy in the heat of the moment, due to it all happening in a matter of seconds/extreme stress making him not realize he was turning a guarantee-win into a non-guarantee-win by doing what he was doing, however... I CANNOT understand how the after-the-fact post game analyzers like this ESPN radio crew could possibly also make this error, since, unlike Lowery, they aren't in the process of running around with 300 lb monsters flying at them having to make frantic thoughts in a span of a few seconds, rather, they are able to take their sweet time to think the scenario over calmly/rationally/logically in their heads after the fact, after the game, and comprehend the correct optimal play in that scenario, and yet they still managed not to comprehend it somehow. That's ASTONISHINGLY bad on their part. Fuck those guys.
  15. stats get players paid. db is gonna for the end zone every time there.

  20. a pick six is like the holy grail for db's. defensive players dont get a chance to score very often and when they do they are gonna go for it no matter what the situation. its not optimal strategy and i dont agree with it but theyre gonna do it. its stats that ultimately get them paid and interceptions and pick sixes are big stats for db's.
  21. god i fking love MJD, Hes the only star the Jags have ever really had and boy did we get a great one.

  22. I posted in the MNF thread about how if i'm Rex Ryan or Ken Whisenhunt I try to run the shit out of my game-clinching player at next practice to illustrate game theory to my players. 100% chance of victory>>>99.x% chance. I was obviously and predictably ridiculed by one of the clueless.

Brian Westbrook's 1-yard-line knee a couple years back was the single most intelligent play in NFL history, and something that should be driven home to players. Probably by the same Madden savant all the clock-managing idiots like Andy Reid(who is actually a good coach) and Mike Singletary (lolgasm) should be hiring to solve their late-game woes. There is a decision tree of clearly mathematically optimal plays, and this was far outside it, but most people are clueless to that fact.
  23. Don King was on something and I called and asked "when will we be decorating his hair with christmas ornaments???"

If you consider not giving a good reason why I was wrong and resorting to insults, then I guess...

  27. i guess these DBs didnt watch the 49ers game last week when the DB fumbled on his way "to the house" and Atlanta recovered and drove back down the field to get a game winning fg. If these analysts ripped u, u should have brought up this point. if the still called u wrong, u should have said they were idiots.
  28. I also thought it was hilarious when Cromartie tried to return the INT on the 2 point conversion attempt...I mean really?

Yeah, that was bizarre. I wonder what the rule is though if he fumbles. I would think the play should be over as soon as he gains possession but it looked like they didn't blow it until he left the end zone.
