Pretty cool story about Adam Greenberg, a kid who got hit in the head on the first pitch of his major league career, and is looking to get one official MLB at-bat.
Here are the stories:

If you want to sign the petition, feel free...would be a pretty awesome story if he parlayed one at-bat into a late MLB career. -
signed. feel bad for the guy

signed

I wouldn't risk a 1.00 career on base percentage.

So Adam Greenberg is going to get his at bat on Tuesday with the Miami Marlins against the Mets and RA Dickey. I think it is awesome that he is getting this chance and it will be an incredible moment not only for him but for baseball as well. I'd imagine that ESPN or mlb.com will have to carry the game or at least cut in for the at bat live. Ozzie Guillen said he will pinch hit with him sometime in the middle of the game and if he gets a hit, he might let him get a 2nd AB as well. I for one, hope he does it.

Dickey better throw the first pitch at his head

how cute
when do we put the guy in a wheelchair at bat
fucking society -
Ozzie Guillen

http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/84...uesday-marlinsIf the kid is going to get a walk, please swing the bat 3-0, I will let you swing the bat. Make sure you don't walk. If he gets a hit by a pitch he's got to pray to somebody else because two big league at-bats getting hit by a pitch, that's very bad luck. He better change religions because if you get hit by pitches in two at-bats, oh my gosh, you better go to church every two days.

Nice to see Ozzie Guillen doing something so cool in one of his last games as a MLB manager
-
I hope the pitcher has a great sense of humor about the whole thing. And beans his ass

If I was in same spot I'd say save your pity for someone who wants it

Today I will witness the choices I make in each moment. And in the mere witnessing of these choices, I will bring them to my conscious awareness. I will know that the best way to prepare for any moment in the future is to be fully conscious in the present.
Whenever I make a choice, I will ask myself two questions: “What are the consequences of this choice that I’m making?” and “Will this choice bring fulfillment and happiness to me and also to those who are affected by this choice?
I will then ask my heart for guidance and be guided by its message of comfort or discomfort. If the choice feels comfortable, I will plunge ahead with abandon. If the choice feels uncomfortable, I will pause and see the consequences of my action with my inner vision. This guidance will enable me to make spontaneously correct choices for myself and for all those around me. -
Lets start a campaign to get tommpatt one at bat, it seems like he needs the attention
-
Could you find a worse guy to try to get a hit off than Dickey? Geez.

Awesome story tho; I'll definitely put the Mets game on the radio tonight so I can flip the tv over to SNY when he comes up. -
It's not like the kid has been in a coma for 5 years and has no chance of getting a hit.

He has 940 hits and a .263 batting average in the minors having played as recently as 2011.

lol @ calling someone older than me a kid, I'm getting old -
I grew up in the same town as adam he was 5 years older then me and his entire family is fucking crazy scary at sports. Me and his brother sam played ball together for almost 10 years so i know him and his family very well.
Adam was a freak in HS and set all kinds of state records. Its awesome to see him get a chance in the majors again. I hope he ropes one to right center gap and gets to finish the game and gets to come to a training camp next year cause the dude deserves it. He still works his ass off hes just a pure athlete through and through. GLGLGL Adam -
Got hit in the head his first major league at bat, hasn't had another one since. The Marlins are going to give him a pinch hit AB tonight. Cool story.
