    1st of all i grew up in the south so I've seen/heard some pretty fucked up racist shit in my day. For some reason this was just like WOW. IDK , I think because it took me by surprise.

    So it was like 1am and I was at Osheas getting a delicious and conveniently priced $5 foot long meatball sub from Subway (this subway is open 24 hours i think). I would of went to a Quiznos just to spite SCgolfer , but IDK where one is on the strip. Anyway
    Behind the counter were 4 Hispanic young dudes. I'd say from 22-27 tops.

    I was standing in line fixing to choose my bread when I see this white trash looking fuck at the register take his sub and then says , in a very audible voice , " Yeah , Welcome to America pfft".

    It wasn't like a "Welcome kind sirs , here's a packet full of tour guides , exchange rates and coupons. Glad to have you."
    It was in a very douchey , condescending , complete asshat tone

    For like 12 seconds I just kind of stood there. Like I didn't know what the fuck just happened. It was awkward as hell cause there was a line of like 5 of us white people and then all Hispanic guys behind the counter. Only one of them got noticeably mad , and he walked to the back. The rest just started saying stuff in spanish. IDK very much so I couldn't understand. They actual guy he said it to just kind of laughed but you could tell he was shocked and offended.

    I didn't know if before I ordered if I could apologize on behalf of white people , or like just ignore it .
    It was all like Daddy hit Mommy at the dinner table , but the kids have to finish eating.
    It just made for an awkward Subway experience.
    FWIW every guy working was very efficient and helpful and from what I could tell spoke perfect English

    I really hope the guy that said it was raped and killed later in his room and died with a throbbing sore asshole and bleeding to death.

    I've heard worse stuff in the South and NYC. The difference is people in the South rarely say it to the person's face, they say it behind their back.

    dude where in the south do you come from, that shit is pretty tame compared to what ive seen/heard.

    we have a local radio talk show host who once said he felt like he needed to shower after getting a hug from a black intern. his is the most popular morning show on the radio here too.

    Racism is just ignorance, plain and simple. I always imagine what it'd be like if we discovered an intelligent alien race...who were all homogeneous except for half of the aliens were blue and half were green...and the blue aliens looked down upon the green ones, were racist, and had enslaved them in the past. I imagine we'd find that pretty ridiculous and petty.

    I really despise only 1 Quiznos owner, and they are independently owned and operated, so please eat Vegas Quiznos to your heart's content. Yea and WOW if that is the worst racism you have ever heard IRL. And you thought my daughter grew up sheltered.

    this was one of the first things I noticed when I moved down here. It's not just racism, people here are sooooooooooo nice (to your face). People up north are more open with their hatred.

    This just kind of took me off guard. I've heard worse things , this was just soooooo unexpected.

    Actually, this is ignorance. There are genetic differences in various races. Humans are the ones that want us all to believe we are the same for politically correct purposes. This doesn't give people the right to discrimate, but we are not all homogenous. That's scientifially incorrect.

    I've seen and heard a lot of racist stuff both in the south and in detroit growing up. But for awkwardness your situation sucks. I take it that's what you meant, not sure why you have to defend yourself here.

    Rednecks chased me and my 2 friends on the beach with a machete yelling kill the n word to my halfblack friend one time on the 4th of july about ten years back. Turns out the guy was shot to death that night after picking a fight with the wrong native american. Shame there was no p5s to make a can't we all get along antiracism thread back then.

    I was at a Mcdonalds at one of the busier intersections in downtown toronto (queen and spadina) a few weekends ago.

    It was about 1 o'clock in the afternoon on a Saturday. Although busy, it's a pretty small mcdonalds, after you order you're supposed to kinda go over to the side so the people behind you can order. There was some white trash looking guy who had just ordered, but wouldn't move over. The woman working at the cashier (who was black) asked him a couple times, then the person who had just ordered asked him (also black). He got offended for some reason and shoved the guy a bit, who just ignored the shove. The white guy kept talking trash for whatever reason. Then as he was leaving, yelled "Fuck you N***ers"

    Was pretty surprising/awkward for a couple minutes. Definitely the most racist thing I've seen in a public place in the middle of the day.

    Late night subways are delicious!

    On a scale of 1-10 thats not very racist. 2 weeks ago I was drinking at my mates and a few of us ordered some indian food to be delivered. When the guy came to deliver it I went outside so he knew what house it was and to pay him. As I stepped outside a group of 4 knob heads all about 18 so were shouting stuff like, "fuck off home you paki cunt." They left when I shouted over but it was still a very unpleasant situation.

    I went to the local shell station to grab a couple of bottles of pepsi the other day. As I am walking out these 2 wanna be tough guys are walking torward the door. The one says to the 2 kids standing near the door and I quote " Nigger get outta my way". Now the 2 black kids couldnt have been more than 12 years old and were not even in these 2 tough guy wanna be's way. The this degenerate looking bald guy said to the guy "WTF DID YOU JUST SAY", and the original guy repeats the "Nigger" comment. The bald dude said to the one why the fuck you have to be so ignorant? then the wanna-be tells baldy to shut his mouth and mind his own business. At this point the one head bobs at the degenerate bald dude, and baldy popped him square in the nose/mouth area. He falls down on the ground blood spitting outta his nose and mouth.

    I take my 90yr old grandfather grocery shopping (he is old school Britich war veteran) and he yells at every non-white person because he thinks they can't understand him...it makes me cringe...and god forbid a woman is in the butcher section cause according to him they can't cut meat and he will tell them so. Thankfully all he comes in contact with just smile back atthe old bugger.
