Obv all the attention on the recent US OPEN champion Rory Mcilroy who is the favourite.
Luke Donald is in the form of his life and Lee Westwood consistent as ever....
My two against the field are Matt Kuchar at 50/1 and Angel Cabrera at 100/1.
Any fancies? -
i know you aren't the first, but at what point was British dropped from the title of this torenament?

that makes sense, but isn't the US open also open globally? and most would consider the US open to be the toughest of the majors and the british is mostly recognized as exactly that, british style links courses. so to me it would make sense to make the US open as "the" open toreny and the british is 'british open"
Reason: considering the discovery of golf, i guess i concede my side -
The "british" open is older, thus was the first "open championship".

Phil's a good each way bet at ~ 45-1 with most british bookies. I think this will be won by an American, backing Bubba too at 110-1

30 mph winds are expected for the first round. Since it maybe gets that windy in places like Texas consistently, someone who plays in the wind regularly should be a good bet...go with a euro to win it or a player from Texas area.

$5 across on
Ben Curtis (150-1)
Retief Goosen (40-1)
Paul Casey (66-1)
AND SLEEPER PICK
Robert Garrigus (200-1) - he only got in because Thomas Levet (a Frenchman) broke his shin jumping into a pond celebrating his win in the French Open. Isn't there always a story in one of these majors with the last guy getting into the field being in contention (John Daly?). -

Also, LOL at the US Open being tougher. Have you ever played a true links course? In weather?
Watch the round tomorrow. -

I really like Matt Kuchar at 50:1...he seems to always be in the hunt no matter what. And if you're in the hunt on Sunday, anything can happen obv.
