He probably shouldn't have fucked with us in the first place then. We wouldn't be celebrating if it wasn't for him.

I.just can't help but feel like we are a bunch of hypocrites. I do get that revenge feels good but the whole back and forth with America and Muslims and the state of the world just doesn't seem like its worth celebrating. It's all really depressing to me. Mankind really fucked shit up... -
lol, who is it going to be upest? al-qaeda members? oh noez.

if we were cheering in the streets that ahmedinejad was killed, you might have a point. -
He killed the money lenders? I missed that Bible story.

This is what the majority of the people of the United States have wanted since 9/11. 9 long years.

doubt you could get more racist, equating muslims with osama lovers. -
They're celebrating in a city that was damaged during 9/11 events. They have a right to be happy and celebrate.

What happened to eye for an eye? wasn't that in the Bible somewhere?

Actually, it's a really awesome symbolic victory for America, having the face of 9/11 killed. It's awesome for the family of victims and it's awesome for our country.

Are some people overreacting? Yeah sure, but some people are just drunk and fist-pumping the success while others feel proud of this symbol of what has been slowly successful battle against terrorism. Successfull? Yes very much. How many major terrorist attacks have occurred in the United States over the last 10 years? How many al-Qaeda operatives and major leaders have been taken down in that decade? How safe do people feel today versus September 2, 2001? If you think they don't feel safer, you're clueless.
It's a celebration that is due and is an integral part of the success of our war on terrorism. I'm not personally fist-pumping in the streets but if people want to, that's great. It's their way of celebrating their pride, and mine is to sit quietly and feel proud and type on a message board. And be really surprised at people who can't understand that celebration of a symbolic act like this is one integral step of the metagame of conducting a successful long-term war. -
Umm...no. All I did was make it personal. Its easy for us to "not care" about innocent lives that are far removed from us but how about not caring when it is a little closer to home? Would you care that your innocent daughter got killed if she was innocently caught up in a bank robbery and got shot by the police who were rescuing her? "Firefights" and all you know...

Don't wanna be a Debbie Downer, but is anyone else sorta cringing when they are watching these people celebrating in the streets and hoping that nothing bad happens? I just have a bad feeling.
-
admittedly, I haven't been to church in a long time.. but if I remember right he kicked over there table and told them to GTFO.. church isn't a place of business or something along those lines

But if he drug them out in the street and hung them, then damn.. guess I didn't get the whole story -
Was more characterizing all of our military actions. I actually support the attempt to capture Bin Laden and obviously firing back if shot at.
-
I doubt his kid would be hanging near the most wanted man in the world?

res, don't bother responding to mattg. He's 100x the moron you are. And we all know how big of a moron you are.

What so we shouldn't celebrate because of what might happen by crazy people? No thanks, they won't take that from me. -

Wow jump to conclusions quick huh? I'm sorry I didn't clarify "Muslims that engage in holy wars on infidels." I thought that was obvious but I guess not. -
How can you possibly call the "War on Terror" successful? 5500 soldiers lost, 30,000 more injured and trillions of dollars spent that has helped speed up the process of recession. It took nearly 10 years to find the guy that was the focus of all of it, and the only place we have been somewhat successful (Iraq) it turns out had nothing to do with 9/11 in the first place. How the fuck is that success?

But could be a bank teller caught up in a heist attempt and shot in a "firefight" by the cops. Or a wife of a person who enjoyed to grow marijuana who gets raided by a 3AM raid and shot in the confusion. Innocent life is innocent life no matter the race, creed, color or nationality.

Edited By: Hateflops May 2nd, 2011 at 06:11 AMThanks for defining innocent, I forgot what it meant for a bit! O and my mom banks online! New technology ftw!Originally Posted by Dyzalot

I mean, tbh I think it would be an even bigger FUCK YOUUUU to the terrorists/terrorist supporters if we didn't go run in the streets and jump up and down and sing and pan for the cameras and all that.

The obvious reason being: the mob crowd cheering there looks fucking identical to the cheering mob crowds that they always show in the middle east right after something bad happens to the U.S./Israel.
So it's like, we would seem like even bigger badasses if we like DIDN'T do that, in order to be all like "See... we aren't like u assholes, we are classy motherfuckers who are above the gutter, who don't jump up and down screaming and singing when something bad happens to our enemy. We don't stoop down to your retarded, shithole level. Gg you."
imo
