  1. I am the absolute worst at giving gifts and I assume I'm not the only one, so I thought I'd start a thread where someone can provide a few profiles of the people they are buying for and then OT can provide ideas for creative gifts.

    I'll start:

Person 1: Teaches elementary art and is really into gardening / all the random decor you see at Hobby Lobby. In year's past I've gotten her a gift card to HL but I'd rather do something a little more special than a boring GC.

Person 2: Husband of person 1. Loves playing his guitar with YouTube videos and rocking out. He's a handyman around the house as well. Years past have been gifts of T-shirts, socks, and a gift card to Dairy Queen (his fav place).

    Looking at ~ $100 - $200 budget for each.
  2. I bought a lot of people nice scarves last year, some sweaters too. Bought 99% of my gifts from amazon.
  3. loaded dice
  4. I am also terrible at buying gifts (do a lot of gift cards) so take what I say with a grain of salt but:

Person 1: A nice framed painting by someone she likes. Person 1 sounds a lot like my mom, and I've thought of getting her a Thomas Kincade painting.

Person 2: Tickets to see one of his favorite bands or a Home Depot gift card sounds like good bets.

  5. easy imo

    Thanks.

I don't know what paintings she likes. Most of the stuff around the house is of her own work.

#2 - He likes old bands, likely ones that are no longer touring :(

get him a soundcard with his computer that he can plug his guitar into

Check if she has any art supplies/gardening tools that need to be replaced. Otherwise, go to a garden store, or whatever this hobby lobby dealie is, and just look around for something cool and unique.

u give money as gifts to ppl age 10-25, not ppl older than u, worst gift ever to someone older than u that u respect. he said he wanted to get them something meaningful this time, not the most meaningless gift possible. also could offend someone to give cash, it implies that they might actually need the cash

sorry dont have any good ideas, i suck at giving gifts as well
