I have a son who is about to be 3 in a few days and absolutely the only thing he shows any interest in is cars. I have gotten him pretty much every type of car/truck/thing with wheels I could possibly buy him at this point. I spend an equal amount on each of my kids and as it sits right now I am still $250 short for him between his birthday and Christmas. Does anyone have any good ideas of other things I can get him? Also if anyone has any solid ideas for a 4 year old girl, I am a little short for her too. TY TY!!
(Dex already said porn so before I get the obligatory OT responses on that one, I am sure his Daddy will keep him stocked up when the time is right. If all else fails, I'll introduce him to slugger
)

Get a webkins for your girl.
Get your boy one of the battery operated jeeps or something that he can drive -
He will not know if you cut him short...he will love it as much now as he would $250 from now.
Free Decatur217!!! -
That looks like fun!

I agree that does look like fun. Good Morning Phi!!
I would really like to find him something that has nothing to do with cars. (He already has one he can drive already Ess but that race track looks awesome!!!) -
Trains are cool... also there are these wooden train sets that hobby shops sell that are awsome. My 4 year old boy is all about the cars, trucks, and trains.
The ones that I am talking about are expensive, hopefully someone else knows what I'm talking about. -
^^these are only good if your kid is the type to just sit there... my son's leapster lasted about 2 hours and then it was old and he went back to smashing up cars and trains.
-
My son plays with Webkins...should I be concerned?
-
buchi is on the right track. My daughter plays the crap out of hers. It takes them a short time to get the idea of how it works but once they got it it's on.
-
^^^those are the toy's I'm talking about, the wooden ones... last forever and are just awsome
-
shit I have a set of thse train track you canhave.
this thread is starting to look like my christams wish list. -
My in laws bought my son ^^ this entire set up (Thomas the train). My son hardly plays with it and when he has I am the one who has to put all that crap together so he can play with it for no more than 6 mins. WASTE OF MONEY. If your son is 3 and likes cars/trucks, get him one of those battery powered vehicles that he can sit in and drive. about $250 i think.
EDIT- 249.99 Toys R Us
-
I agree trainset= waste of money (the wooden ones anyways)
-
We must have way different kids b/c my son destroys the train set and rebuilds it daily... its by far his favorite toy to incorporate into his cars and trucks... kid builds a freaking city with the stuff, but won't sit down and listen to a story or even watch more than 10 minutes of any TV show. He's completely ADD (like his father) and we are NOT going to medicate his ass.
Oh well... someday we'll have peace again. -
Regarding your pm TG......

my son is 3 as well.. i got him a toy shaving kit, and a toy barbershop thing because he likes to try and cut my hair all the time. Needless to say, my son doesnt look like hes got a bright future. also one of those power whell escalades last year, but he doesnt really play with that as much anymore.
-
Well, first thing is that he's 3. I'm willing to bet that he isn't going to freak out if you spend less on him than the others. Really, it's good to keep it close, but if you can't one year, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Secondly, if he has every sort of car, why not just try some other stuff. I guess I find it odd, only because my nephews love tons of stuff.
My best suggestion (what I do with a kid when I have to get them something and I have no idea), why not pack him in the car, take him to Toys R Us (or any other large store) and let him look around and see what he likes. I find it hard to believe that, if you do this, he won't want almost everything in the store. Then, go back another day, and pick a few things out for him. -
It's true that he wouldn't freak out but it seems so unfair. I was looking for ideas other than cars. We don't have a toys r us here but I have taken him shopping and literally if it doesn't have any interest at all. The kid is honestly OCD over cars and I would like him to have another interest other than just cars -- trust me!! That's why I am having so much trouble with him.

MY son is 3 also. He Loves aything Monster truck( has to come from my wifes side. Why did I marry a kentucky girl?) Cars( the movie) and thomas.
We are focusing more on the thomas magnetic set this year. The battery ones you have to keep replacing the batterys to often.
He loves just pushing the trains around more then on a track anyways.
He sets up massive races with all his cars. OF course then he usually decides they need to be in the worlds biggest race crash. pretty much all his cars and trucks have big dings in them.
Maybe get him a matchbox car drag strip? I have old sets from when I was a kid so we set up a huge one from top of the couch out into the kitchen then race every car he has into the kitchen.
Wife loves coming home from work and seeing 300+ cars all over the kitchen. -
ok other then cars.
Action figures?
maybe see if the local Tae Kwon DO studio has a mighty mights class. Gets him use to how martial arts works. Then when he is 5 or 6 yank his ass and get him in a real art.
maybe a board game? Candy land, matching games and the like.
