Discuss.. I think Taylor whoops that ass, cant believe the odds on this one, Taylor will win easy on the scorecards. my man never loses
-
I hope he fights better than his few matches (dating back to Winky Wright last summer).
On a local radio station a Taylor-hater was on the air with Lou Pinela (ap?.....Taylor's promoter) trading jabs back and forth about this match. It was entertaining to listen to. -
If Taylor can go back to what he did before his two fights with Hopkins, utilizing his jab effectively by doubling and tripling up on it, and moving his feet just enough, so that Pavlik can't get set to throw his huge bombs, Taylor might be able to win a decision. He will also have to trade with Pavlik in certain spots and Taylor's chin has never been tested before like Kelly will test it, so it'll be interesting to see if Jermaine "Bad Decisions" Taylor will be able to take some of those shots. If Taylor fights like he did vs. Hopkins, Wright, Ouma and Spinks, Pavlik will win by UD or late round TKO.
-
yeah but none of those are really come forward fighters like pavlik is. i think this makes a better advantage for taylor who is looking to counter. Very easy fight here, i really do believe but will be entertaining.
-
You certainly have a point there (although Ouma is pressure fighter that comes forward and throws nearly a 100 punches /per round). Taylor handled Ouma easier than he did the others, but Ouma landed quite a few shots flush on Taylor. That's what concerns me because Pavlik is a lot bigger and more physically imposing than Ouma and hits way harder. I'm not sure if you have seen Pavlik's fight vs. Edison Miranda, but he not only showed a great chin, but also the technique to box in spots in addition to being a sick brawler. I think the key to this fight is Jermaine's jab. If he can throw like 60 jabs per round like he used to, he can beat Pavlik. But physically Pavlik is so strong that there will be moments in the fight where he will cut the ring off and Taylor will have to exchange with Pavlik. So it's by no means an "easy" fight for Taylor. You can go to any boxing website/publication and every writer who knows anything about boxing will tell you it's a very close fight.
-
pavlik hasnt beaten anybody that would even merit credentials, and miranda is a joke i mean look at his padded record where 90 percent of his wins were in D.R., or in surrounding areas. Pavlik is a great fighter, but its his first chance at the ship. he in no way will knockout taylor, i can guarantee that. I could see him pulling off an upset, i dont think thats impossible, but i do see taylor winning the fight handily, like a 116-112 sounds like a good read.
-
Miranda is not a joke. Have you seen him vs. Allan Greene, Arthur Abraham or Howard Eastman?
-
i guess we will just have to wait till tommorow to see for sure wont we
-
I think it will be a very close fight. Keep in mind though that this is Pavliks first big time fight, and in the olympics Taylor beat Pavlik (17 at the time). A mental advantage could be a slight edge to Taylor.

well, thank God this is not a ppv fight...i just dont think i could pay for another fight right now..with a ufc once a month to every 3 weeks, to a wwe ppv every month...sigh...so hell ya.
My take, i dont know much about this other guy but knowing taylor and that i heard his home town has been dogging him saying he is a pussy and shit cuz of his last bullshit fights, he will come out with "bad intentions" no doubt.
His home town has been giving him shit, the pavlik guy talked some smack. And he has the best trainer of this current era by far. I Think taylor has to come out looking for the KO and if he does, i will welcome him back. I dont see him pussy footin this fight. He will come out hard and trying for a knockout. Lets see if Taylor learned anything new. I think he has and he is pissed. This should be a statement fight. Just hope he doesnt get caught while trying to make this statement cuz i heard pavlik can punch holes in brick walls.
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE....boxing is still kick ass.....sorry for saying weeeee...its so guhaye -
i like taylor in this too but never never never bet boxing
it is the one sport you can never be sure of, whether it be the fix, a dude hiding an injury, a massive problem in a dude's personal life keeping him from training or a guy who simply wants to party now that he has gotten paid
unfortunately the time we find out some of these is after it is too late
that being said, i am a huge boxing fan and enjoy watching the fights -
I got about halfway through the posts and was like "where the fuck is BOKE?" Then bink there he his representing his boy
-
i feel bad for boke.. its like hes been waiting forever for this one, and when shit goes down the drain were gonna have to be there to console him and say, this aint no edison miranda you fought bo, this is Jermaine snakesonthemuthafuckinplane Taylor, and if you dont know, your ass betta call somebody!
-
i thought taylor would win but damn pavlik was tough
he showed me a whole lot and im even more impressed with him after listening to him in the post fight interview very classy intelligent and a hell of a fighter congrats pavlik -
LOL @ Pavlik after Larry merchant queston of what did you think after the 2nd round
Pavlik "Ah, shit this gonna be a logn night" LOL -
yeah, im not gonna hate he derserved it.. its one of those fights where i think everyone did what their gameplan had in em, and it fell the way it fell. taylor fought exactly how i thought he would, he wasnt effected by anything in the earlier rounds, showed his ability to counter which we knew, pavlik was not as good as i suspected, but he has some power and as there is no match for speed in football, there really isnt a match for pure punching power in boxing. kid did good, cant wait for the rematch
-
agreed
-
DAMN look at right side of Taylors face in the interview
-
Good fight. Pavlik seems like a pretty decent guy. He is tough for sure. Those uppercuts were nasty
-
def would watch rematch
-
I'd love to see Pavlik move up to 168 and fight the winner of the upcoming Calzaghe-Kessler bout. That would be an even better fight than Pavlik-Taylor.
-
Great fight. Boxing would be on the rise if that was a Mayweather/De La Hoya type fight in terms of hype.
