  1. i know it will be a terrible fight just wishful thinking

  2. he has to give him the rematch, thats the only thing kosher to do here. taylor coulda ducked him but he took the fight, and as well the favor should be returned.. especially with the dynamics of the fight, taylor dominating on the scorecards, i.e. he woulda had to lose the remaining rounds to lose had he not got knocked out. Pavlik can also show that he owns him like Rampage owns chuck.. man and just to think kimbo is fighting Tank next week.. man i love fighting

  3. Much more fun fight to watch then Taylor's previous few bouts...

Dissappointed that he did not finish Pavlik off in round 2. He had him hurt, even when Pavlik got back up...Taylor blew the bout there (told my wife he will most likely lose it at that point).

I like Pavlik's fighting, though. Taylor fights too much to maintain a points lead....Pavlik fights to beat the shit out of the other guy. I thought Taylor was going to do that after watching the first 2 rounds...but then looked like he went into defend the points mode.

Rematch should be fun....I don't expect much different though.
  4. Anyone else wonder why the judges did such a shitty job scoring the fight? I mean one judge had Taylor up by 4? Wtf was that?

  5. i don't think taylor was THAT far ahead on scorecards

  6. ^^^EXACTLY. comon 3 points isnt much when you consider the 2nd round was probably 10-8 from the knockdown. Without the knockdown its only a round swing and still a fairly close fight. Regardless scorecards dont matter when you get dropped
  7. I had through 6 three rounds each...with Taylor having the 1 point advantage for the knock down. No way he won more than 3 rounds legit.
  8. yes and dont forget they only use the scorecards IF the fight goes the distance
  9. i mean thats what they announced.. you always hear that ringside its alot diff, than what we see at home. compubox numbers alone kind of favored taylor across the board, way more accurate percentage wise, landed the same exact just threw less. he had pavliks face for lunch until that last encounter but dude did what he had to do.. like i said before both guys i think got their game plan across, i think taylor shoulda smelled blood and went for it in second round, but maybe he didnt sense it, im sure he didnt want to keep the man in it. oh well, bottom line is this was a winner for all boxing fans

  10. Give it up Sweetness...Taylor didn't dominate that fight at all. I had Pavlik winning the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 6th rounds (although I might have the 5th and 6th rounds mixed up). Harold Lederman had it about the same too. Pavlik controlled the fight for the most part by backing up Taylor for the majority of the fight. Kelly Pavlik is exactly what boxing needs, a great young white champ. It'll do great things for the sport to have a guy like Pavlik that a large majority of Americans can identify with.

  11. lol at the comment, so what are you saying america needs a white champ? who gives a shit what color he is, hes a good fighter, he deserves the win he fought his ass off. lederman isnt an official judge, and neither are you, but i would be willing to say that if 3 judges had the fight an average of 4 points in favor of taylor in all 3 cards, he must have been doing something right. the bottom line is the fight had all the angles, and i would love to see it again.

  12. I admit I figured Taylor by KO inside 5 rounds. I didnt see anything special in Pavlik. I had Taylor ahead, but certainly not dominating.

A couple of points. Pavlik looks like he was a weight division or two bigger than Taylor. I didnt see the stat for tonights weights though. The other thing is that Pavlik showed the same heart great champions have by getting off the deck in round 2, he was seriously in trouble. A lot of great champions won titles after getting off the deck. You cant teach heart.

No offense to Pavliks friend here. I am certainly a believer now.
  13. I only lie at the poker table! Pavlik champion......way too much power, one and done.

    End of convo,

    Bottles poppin obvi.

  14. Flame away, but race does mean something. Are you gonna tell me that Mexican boxing fans are going to rally behind a black/white/filipino fighter? Boxing has a lot of problems (the corrupt boxing associations, weak fights, etc), but one of the biggest is the lack of superstars that fans can identify with.

  16. This was a great fight. I watched it again and slow-mode it and that punch taylor got hit with, his skin on his face freakin rippled hardcore. That should be one of those pasted short vids thing you guys do...like a GTFO!....lol

When pavlik got elbowed after taylor was puttin it on him, pavlik puts his hands down and sticks his chin out and in slow motion mouths E-L-B....BAM BAM he got rocked..You watch pavlik say that to him and taylor jumps on him....lol....classicness

Pavlik hit taylor behind the head in the clinch alot too...he should have got warned...I dont think this is the reason pavlik won but that punch behind the head fucks you up.

In a rematch, i think Taylor wins...I think its gonna be ppv..and then we will see a trilogy.

But who knows what this fight took out of Taylor, he got fuckin hit hard.
If you look at the percentages, pavlik got hit way too much...Taylor had major accuracy...But so did Pavlik...
When pavlik got up after that straight rockin punch to his mug,,,,mad respect

I think Taylor should have gotten an 8 count...but he was done.

  17. awesome fight!!! I've become a pavlik fan since his destruction of Miranda...the guy hits like a train, its unreal, Jermaine had the flashier punches, Pavlik had the Thuding harder shots...............I dint want Pavlik at 168, I think he would get picked apart by Calzaghe, who is 10 times the boxer Taylor is (not as good an athlete though)

Pavlik vs either Sturn or Abrham would be what I wanna see.

  18. FWIW, I believe in the contract that when/after Kelly won this fight he had to rematch Taylor. Im hearing Cleveland for the rematch and possibly up a weight class for both. However, Im not sure what exactly is gonna happen, Taylor was moving up divisions after this fight, but I don't think he had any thoughts about losing to Kelly. SO not sure if bumping up a weight will still factor in.

  19. i know this might sound racist...but im happy a white guy has a belt....
