So here's the jist of it, for all you americans out there, reading this post, you must know that college in the states is far more expensive than in Canada. A years worth of schooling at a non-private U is more or less 6K in Canada. That said, I am off to college and leaving home as of August. My parents are helping out by paying my appartment but insist on I getting a job in order to pay for school.
I have never taken poker seriously, as a matter of fact, I still don't play much. Although, about a week or so back I sat down with a buddy and we decided to split a tourney on cake @ $150 buy-in. We placed 5th for a little over 6K, I collected 3 of the 6. Anyhow, I'm halfway to paying my first year of college and intend on playing a few tournies here and there to make the most of my studies without having to work.
Just thought I should share that ! -
gfy. my 50,000 a year education will get me far in life, or at least i'll never have to live in canada

LOL Canada is actually pretty fucking awesome. I'm pretty sure that you have never even been to Canada and I'm also pretty sure that you aren't a girl. Your 50K per year degree might get you far in life but that ummm depends on a lot of factors.

Get OSAP, use it for tuition ONLY, then get a part time job (try to get one at school) to pay for beer.
