    Usually it's thrown in if there's an OP that goes 1-2 hours without getting its first response. This one was 5+ hours so it looked like a safe bet.

    It was funny for the first few seasons but during the show's hiatus one of the other writers left to do Scrubs. Ever since the show came back it's been in the toilet.

    Old Family Guy = outlandish but in the framework to the basic storyline or at least with good transitions

    New Family Guy = an attention whore, let's be as scandalous as we can like South Park but minus the clever stories, throw in as much random senseless topical jokes that we can with absolutely no attention paid to transitioning or immersion. In fact fuck immersion if we can't think of anything funny we'll just break the 4th wall and make fun of the viewers.

    Aside from the criticisms of the post-hiatus episodes, the show just doesn't have the staying power the Simpsons have. I can watch prime-era Simpsons reruns forever and it's still hilarious. Seeing Family Guy reruns is just boring.

    Better yet let's compare the other projects of Seth MacFarlane and Matt Groening

    Family Guy: Show about a family with a stupid father getting into wacky adventures, mother who tries to keep him grounded. They have a pet who talks, and a gay baby.

    American Dad: Show about a family with a stupid father getting into wacky adventures, mother who tries to keep him grounded. They have a pet who talks, and a gay alien.

    Wow, fucking original shit there.

    Simpsons: Show about a family with a stupid father, wife tries to keep him grounded. No wait, there's way more then that. Practically the whole damn town of characters is crucial to different plot points of the show.

    Futurama: Show about a deliverey boy who is frozen in time and now lives in the future, along with a half dozen completely original and funny characters.

    Seth MacFarlane sucks.
