A group of friends and I are headed to Phoenix tomorrow for a long weekend. (Ok, for the Nascar race, flame away). Since we are staying on the West side of town, I think Scottsdale and Tempe are out, so we are looking for some suggestions for downtown Phoenix bars. We like Irish pubs, sports bars, local hangouts, etc. Not really into the martini/stuffy clubs and shat. Also, a nice outdoor patio bar would be nice. I have done some research and found places like: Jacksons on 3rd, The Yardhouse, Dubliner, Seamus Mccaffrey's. Anyone have any suggestions. Oh yeah, we are old fogies b/t 30-35 years old.
-Thanks -
rosey mccafrees... dunno how to spell it, sry... its on like camelback rd east of 7th st in downtown... pretty tight lil irish pub...
honestly as a local, scottsdale or tempe would be worth the drive imo... -
I lived in santa barbara where there are tons of good looking woman, but phoenix by far has the best looking girls around. Have a good time.
-
I don't know where they hide. I was in Phoenix last week and only saw one really hot chick. I went to some bar called The Library and the waitresses were dressed in little schoolgirl outfits. They had nice bodies but were freaky looking otherwise.
-
anywhere by ASU
-
There is a Library is Tempe on ASU's campus, I was there before and it was damn good. Scottsdale is the best place to see all the hotties and of course ASU campus when it gets warm. A lot of the ASU women go to Scottsdale to party.

McDuffys in Tempe, outside patio, inside sports bar, even a club on the other side. I think every thursday they have .50 coronas and free wings. If your in the area you want to go to Tempe/Scottsdale 15 minute drive is worth it.
-
Its on 5th street btw.

McDuffys has a location in Peoria/N. Glendale. It is near Arrowhead mall on 83rd Ave and Bell...
The Salty Senorita is a cool place to hang. It is also near Arrowhead. It is off 83rrd Ave and Paradise Lane (outside/in the parking lot of the Peoria Sports complex). It has a kick ass patio bar...Check out the website...Two locations, the one I mentioned and one in Scottsdale
Several bars also also located in Westgate city center (The outdoor mall outside Cardinal football stadium). There is a Yardhouse, Fox Sports Grill, and Margaritaville...
Exactly where are you staying? -
We are staying in Avondale, near the track. I'd say it's about 10 miles West of downtown Phoenix
-
It is more then 10 miles from Avondale to downtown. Honestly, downtown is pretty much dead in the Phoenix area.
Your best bet is Westgate (The Yardhouse, Fox Sports Grill, Margaritaville)
And Be careful...The Maricopa County Sheriffs are known to stake out events that draw a lot of drunks... -
Kincaids, right across from the ballpark has the best sandwich i have ever had in my life. Go there and get the Prime Rib Dip.
-
I lived in avondale for a year, no good bars there when i lived there. We always took the 15-20 minute drive to tempe and went to dos gringos, acme, mcduffys, those are good bars.
-
McDuffy's in Tempe closed down about a year ago.
-
Salty Senorita >> Dos Gringos.
-
Get out of the sticks fellas.

As mentioned before Salty Senorita's on 83rd and Bell is the ticket, multiple other decent places just West of there. Westgate for proximity will be solid. If you are willing to go downtown from where you are at, may as well just go all the way to Tempe or Scottsdale.
Bobby Q's off the I17 and Dunlap is mint for steaks/bbq/drinks anytime, FYI. -
mcduffys closed? lame
-
McDuffy's in Tempe has been closed for over a year...
