I need to submit my 3 keepers tonight and I haven't done any research so I could use OT's help. I can pick up to 3 and I lose their spot in the draft:
Tom Brady- 4th round
Matt Leinart- 11th round
Anquan Boldin- 2nd round
Marques Colster- 15th round
Joseph Addai- 3rd round
Clinton Portis- 1st round
Laurence Maroney- 6th round
Kellen Winslow- 15h round -
Colston, Addai, and Maroney. No-brainers in this format.
-
^^^^ Agreed. you won't find similar value in the 3rd, 6th, or 15th rounds with those 3
-
I agree with Addai, Colsten, and Maroney with the picks concept.
-
as they've all said, no doubt about it
-
If you keep Brady, Maroney and Colston....
1st round - best available RB
2nd round - best available WR
3rd round - best available RB
4th - Brady
5th - best available WR
6th - Maroney
7th - best available QB
8th - best available TE
So after 8 rounds - 2 QB, 3 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE locked up. After that - best available player regardless. -
I tried to get registered but got some type of debug issue so I couldn't post.

lol phi. u dont have to explain yourself i was just being an ahole

no question...
addai because his name backwards is Ricky Be Ricky
backslash / forward slash..pwned freakin n00b -
Addai and Maroney are super ridiculously pbv...they will be first round picks in most drafts this year.
Colston also seems pretty obv to me, though I doubt he'll live up to last year's numbers. The fact that you only give up a 15th round pick for him makes him a fantastic value.
Leinart is good value too, but not top 3 there, imo. -
it's hard to argue with everyone saying keep colston, maroney and addai but i can't see you winning your league with maroney and addai as your #1 and #2 RBs...if i were you i'd go over everyone else's teams, make your best guess who's gonna be available, and if you think you can get a big time back in round 1, keep colston, maroney, and quite possibly....LEINART...although winslow for a 15th rounder is tempting
the biggest reason i say maroney over addai is the 3rd rounder vs 6th rounder and NE plays a lot of snow games during fantasy playoff time -
I don't think giving up your 6th round pick for Maroney would be more valuable than giving up your 15th for Winslow. You're getting a top-tier tight end in Winslow for a 15th...FIFTEENTH round draft pick. If you want a good tight end, you're gonna have to get one well before the 15th round.
With Maroney, I don't know...he doesn't strike me as a great fantasy back this year. Is he worth a 6th round pick? Yes. But is it more valuable than giving up a 15th for Winslow? I don't think so. I'd rather keep my 6th round pick, see who's available, and improve my team there. I know I'll have options at 6, whereas 15th is a throw-away pick. I'd keep Winslow. -
Only TE I'm keeping in a keeper league is Gates, obviously you're not going to be able to find the value of a Winslow in the 15th round, but you can't pass up on Maroney (with only losing a 6th rounder) Not sure how many people are in this league, but Maroney will be the 9-13th pick in all drafts IMO, Maroney ftw.
-
Who says they have to be your 1/2? It's very obvious, but sometimes people choose to ignore the fact that RB's are gold. Keep Addai and Maroney and then spend your #1 on another RB. You keep Addai, Maroney, and Colston because of their value relative to the pick you forfeit. Maroney is >>>> any 6th rounder you could get. Even if you don't want one of the 3 I listed, I assume you would be able to trade them. You may have to take the short end of the stick through a trade (or maybe not), but even if you do, you're essentially trading a 3rd, 6th, or 15th round pick for something else. I agree that Colston won't produce like he did last year, and I would probably try to move him (of the the 3) because some people are still very high on him. I think you could probably trade Colston and Maroney for say Reggie Brown and a RB you like more than Maroney. But if you choose to keep all 3, you definitely can't be criticized for it.

Without knowing the size of the league, or how it's scored, I just don't see how he can get away from not keeping two 1st round RB's with only losing a 3rd and 6th round pick. This gives him the option to go after another stud RB in the 1st, (obv. might not be much available with each team having 3 keepers, but best available anyways) and go after Peyton/Palmer/Brady with his 2nd.
I personally don't see Colston having the year he had last year again either, so if you wanted to keep a Winslow/Leinart, that's fine. Gotta keep addai and Maroney though. -
Leinart has a huge upside at the 11th round, could be worth a gamble cant go wrong with colston or winslow, this draft format sounds fun though
