  11. Our campsite 2nd night of the trek, was in the middle of a village, the glacier at the top of the mountain is at about 5300 meters if i remember correctly. Local people worship it as the protector of the village.

  12. How many nights was the hike?

Got photoshop. Watched about 5 hours of tutorial video so far but haven't really used it yet. This is the first photo I tried (in addition to lightroom). Made one minor change fixing the levels and the difference is night and day, wouldn't have posted it before. Entire histogram was on the left side before, really flat looking picture. Not the greatest photo but still thrilled with the potential from learning photoshop. Come a long way in the past year so looking forward to where I'll be in a year from now

  14. Hike was basically 2.5 days, group trip was 4 days...first two nights camping along the trail, 3rd day was basically 3hrs downhill, then hotspring, then bus to the town next to Macchu Picchu where we stayed in a hotel before spending 4th day at Macchu Picchu.

Another HDR on the way down from 2nd night campsite...adjusted it to be a little too blue maybe. I like how the water came out looking like it's flowing.

  15. Woke up to a phone call this morning that my best friend's dad died in his sleep last night. Was completely unexpected. Several years back I went to Michoacan, Mexico with them for my friend's grandma's 80th bday party (posted a pic of her earlier in this thread pointing the gun). Day before the party we came back from sightseeing for the day and there was a whole pig sliced in 2 on the kitchen table. Deep fried the whole pig and had carnitas, mini kegs, and a mariachi band. Was such an amazing trip

    RIP (Zacapu, Michoacan)

  18. Lares valley bellow the village we camped in...some hotsprings about an hour hike away

  19. Technically not a photo, but saw a storm was rolling in and started the video. Caught this bolt striking fairly close to downtown. Soon after, the firetrucks could be heard. No word yet on what got hit. This bolt also sent the dogs under the bed.

  20. still cool.

Hike looks truly amazing Skank, bucketlist. Some great shots too

  21. Nice pic, i usually don't like the sepia-ish look, but that came out really well.

here are some villagers walking along the road...can see how short peruvians are.

  22. ty. Finally finished Vietnam, will post in travel thread soon. That means onto China!

Kunming was my introduction to China. It's a bustling modern city, but the old China from before the boom and all the growth is still here. I think this captures both

Thanks, never done an HDR though, hopefully give it a try soon. The Kunming photo was mostly done in curves using 2 layer curves (one for sky, one for foreground). Foreground looks too bright imo. The temple ones all in lightroom, playing a lot with split toning.

  28. Zep's been yelling at me for months to post in here, and last time I ignored his advice for months was a huge mistake, so here I go.

Taken from the boat jetty at Boracay in the Philippines last week. All water should be this color.
