It won't all fit here so here's a link
Dr. John A. Howard, president of Rockford College, said: “I invite you to take a little card and put it on your mirror or display it in some prominent place where it can serve as a daily reminder. I suggest that you inscribe on that card that phrase, ‘Truth is outraged by silence.’”
Twenty-two years we were a witness to history. The Berlin Wall dividing East and West Germany fell. For months, East Germany’s beleaguered communist rulers had tried in vain to silence a growing opposition movement and stem the tide of people pouring out of the country. -
well because you said please dot dot dot im not gonna read this
-
I saw that link address and immediately said to myself, "I am not clicking that link."
I scrolled down and found out I was not alone in my thought, and now I'm padding my post count for no reason. -
Cliffs"
Ronald Reagan is God
The Nazis succeeded with Krystalnacht because good people did nothing
Pro-abortionists are the modern day Nazis (sfobv) and where are the children of God (Ronald Reagan) to do something to stop this?
God, God, something, something, The Bible -
out of about 20 paragraphs I found one redeeming sentence: If politics is a dirty game, it is because we have left it to dirty people to play while we stand on the sidelines and complain.
For those of you who are curious but didn't want to read it, it is EXACTLY what you would expect to read on conservativesforpalin.com. The theme of the piece is good vs evil from the perspective of religious political activism. Good being the christian conservatives and evil being the liberals and the government in general.
-This evil can be personified in the pro abortion atmosphere of our country.
-God wants us to get actively engaged in rebuilding the walls around our communities to make them safe again in all respects. -
i would have found it a little surprising when i was in sunday school at age 9 or so that I would immediately lose all respect for someones arguments and their intellect in general the second I heard god come out of their mouth, a dozen years later or so... i remember being so afraid to say i didnt believe in god out loud from age like 10-13ish, i felt that there was some slim chance i'd be damned for eternity if i gave into rational thought, so i should play it safe
cant believe some people carry on with that shit their whole lives -
"Truth is outraged by silence" is a fantastic quote. A couple weeks ago (at a poker table no less) I spontaneously said "truth conquers self", something I think is also of utmost importance.
I only skimmed through the rest (I guess its saying all truth=religious truth?) but I do think the concept or the importance of truth is largely lost in modern society. Politicians are of course the easy target. Politicians don't campaign on truth but instead on what they think the public perceives as truth. The same thing goes on in the private sector through the mass marketing of products. For example, there is no substantive difference between Bud Light, Miller Light, or Coors Light. Instead, the only real differences are in their ad campaigns. And I'm not saying its wrong for these companies to try to sell their beers through clever marketing strategies. Rather the onus is on us, the consumers, for allowing them to persuade us like that. If we were a truth oriented society a snazzy political or marketing campaign wouldn't matter. But instead we let others make choices for us, even if the illusion is that we're making the choices ourselves.
The truth truly will set us all free. Its an utter travesty that so many of us choose to be blind to this simple and profound fact.
