Most Dissapointing Team: Pittsburgh (Jamie Dixon aint seeing a final four this year as well)
Most Dissapointing Player: Terrence Jones ( Kentucky...head case)
Biggest Suprise Team: San Diego State (they will be a top 10-15 pre season team next year. Return all starters as well)
Most Suprising Player: Tim Frazier (Penn State....seriously..who saw this coming...Big 12 teams missed out big time... http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...95/tim-frazier )
Top 10 players in college hoops right now( not necessarily for NBA but just college). Again, there are better players than some of these guys but these are having the biggest overall impact for their teams imo.

Meanderings.......
- apparantly Arizona State is finding out what North Carolina State already knew...that Herb Sendek, while an excellent coach, cannot relate to today's young 'yutes'. Makes me wonder if Jahii Carson will even come next year. Think Jerry Sloan...except Sloan walked away.
- one of the best hirings in the off season was Ron Hunter by Georgia State. The CAA is quickly becoming a top notch mid major conference right in line with the MWC, MVC and CUSA. If you ever get to see Georgia State play in person...go..and watch Hunter coach em up. He is downright hilarious at times.
- continuing w/ the Georgia State theme....they have an uber athletic senior swingman by the name of Josh Micheaux. He fills up a stat sheet (6 pts, 7 rebs, 3 ass, 2 steal per game) and always has one or two plays a game where you just go wtf? how did he do that. check him out if you have a chance.
- Pat Knight and Mike James are showing others how its done. How whats done u ask? How to properly mend a rough relationship. See James is a flashy 6'0 guard who poured in 52 points last year. He is also a cocky mofo. Pat Knight is the coach who could not win with all seniors at Texas Tech. Well....James was acting up in November and Pat Knight put a quick stop to that, suspending him and saying that Lamar University has high standards that Mike is not meeting. Well instead of bitching it up and pouting...Mike James decided to shape up. As a result, Lamar is the class of the Southland Conference and Pat Knight is looking like he just might have found his niche. Lets compare the numbers before and after the suspension....10 pts, 2 rebs, 3 ass, 3 steals and a 1-2 team record. He missed 3 games and played 9 minutes in the fourth game than..........19 pts, 3.5 rebs, 2 ass, 2 steals and a 7-4 team record. Well done you two.
- OT: Everytime(and its often) the song "You got the moves like Jagger" comes on i want to kill a baby.
- Adam Moujeke (Wyoming): http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...5/afam-muojeke once one of the promising young players out west (they got him from New York..what a steal) had his career derailed by injuries. Hang in there big guy.
- Here is another few freshmen that the big boys past over: A shooter http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...594/johnny-dee and a Slasher/scorer(love this guy) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...4/jordan-baker
- Dylan Gerrity: Unselfish distributors are hard to come buy. A little known west coast team somehow nabbed one of the best distributors in the nation. Averaging almost 7 assists on a team with very few scorers. Well done and here is how Sacramento State got it done http://sacstatesports.com/2011/12/29...ts-coach-katz/
- The First Team Missouri Valley Conference players could play tough with any other conferences first team in the nation.
Doug McDermott (creighton) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...doug-mcdermott
Rayvonte Rice (drake) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask.../rayvonte-rice
Colt Ryan (evansville) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...5780/colt-ryan
Kyle Weems (missouri st) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...541/kyle-weems
Toure Murray (wichita st) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...09/toure-murry
Jake Odum (indiana st) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...5785/jake-odum
Garret Stutz (wichita st) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask.../garrett-stutz
Taylor Brown (bradley) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...1/taylor-brown
This 8 man team can hang with anyone imo.
- Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, Deonte Burton, ............ -
real quick before I get past the first part. Take UNC off that #1 line as a 1 seed doesn't get jiggleraped by 30 and replace them with Baylor. I'll now look for some more and enjoy these
Edited By: Poker&Golf Jan 16th, 2012 at 12:33 AM
Dude, take A&M off ur list. They aren't an 11 seed or even going to sniff the tournament! They might be one of the worst 20 teams in the land right now -
I'm an Illinois fan, and they were a 9 seed on your last bracketology...they've went out and beaten who they're supposed to beat, and also beat tOSU at home, are 15-3, 4-1 in B10 (#1 RPI conference by wide margin) , and they dropped to a 10?
Edited By: JRoth15 Jan 16th, 2012 at 12:36 AM
What gives?
EDIT--I know it's based on predicted future results, but even if they go .500 in conference, they'll be a top 8 seed. -
I get the feeling that you think SU's start is a bit of "fool's gold". Did you not really talk about them because of that or is there another reason not to mention what appears to be the best team in the country?
-
Cuse has 4 wins vs the top 50, all at home
UK has 3 wins vs the top 50, 2 home and 1 neutral
Duke has 6 wins vs the top 50, 3 home and 3 neutral
UNC has 1 win vs the top 50, neutral (4 inside top 65)
Ohio St. has 4 wins vs the top 50, all at home
BAYLOR HAS 7 WINS VS THE RPI TOP 50, 3 ON THE ROAD AND 3 NEUTRAL -
i love bracketology, but you need to leave the Washington homerism at the door, cmon now.
-
Baylor has 7 wins inside the RPI top 44, 1 at home, has the #3 RPI and will be ranked #3 in both polls tomorrow. prestonluv has Baylor as a 2 seed right now.
Edited By: TheWacoKidd Jan 16th, 2012 at 01:03 AM
Texas A&M has ZERO wins inside the RPI top 100 all season, is 9-6 overall with the #190 RPI, and lost to Rice on their home court, where ISU beat them by 24 as well. pluv has them as an 11 seed.
GREAT STUFF
what about the aggy resume combined with future prediction to you says "11 seed" exactly? -
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist tho
-
Jarnell Stokes is coming
-
Ahh ok. I didn't look up RPI just looked up a quick ranking here.

you have mizzou as a 3 and a 4
-
Weird...did they lose this weekend?
Edited By: JRoth15 Jan 16th, 2012 at 12:58 AM
It hasn't updated since the 9th, but 44th to 58th is a bit of a drop.
Just saw they lost at home to GaTech, then played Wake (who blows). -
lost at home to GT and played @ Wake, geeg top 50
-
does baylor drop to a 3 after they lose tomorrow? i say they should stay a 2.
-
Ok well... what about Virginia Tech? Did they drop out of the top 50 too or were you just making the statement that NYC counts as a "home" game for SU?
-
40th here *shrug*... Wasn't meant to imply you were inaccurate. I sincerely thought you were counting NYC as home for SU which to be honest I wouldn't have much of an argument against in the context of playing a school from Virginia.

Edited By: Prestonluv Jan 16th, 2012 at 01:17 AMI think Illini is going to fall off the face of the earth. Yes they had a big win this week but thats because Paul had a once in a lifetime game.Originally Posted by JRoth15

Maybe i am wrong tho.
8-11 seed is where they are heading imo
what more do you want than a number 1 seed? They dont really have any POY candidate and are a well balanced team. They will be a tough out in the NCAA's and are a legitimate Final 4 candidateOriginally Posted by Dyzalot

I think baylor loses 4 or 5 games down the stretch. They might still get a number one tho. but its just my hunchOriginally Posted by TheWacoKidd

trust me....there is not much left...they look like shit so far this yearOriginally Posted by ScottBrewr99

Va Tech has since lost at home to FSU and lost on the road to a much lower rated BC team, they have a double down arrow on realtimerpi.com -
Looking for a team to follow in the tourney - I see you have Iona as a 13. Saw they just recently lost to Manhattan and Hofstra within the last 2 weeks.
Haven't followed much this year - is Iona just a one and done team, or are their games worth following? They're supposed to have a sick offense. -
Iona has a kid named Scott Machado who is leading the nation in assists at 10.4.

Averaging like 14 PPG/5 RPG/10.4 APG...really good player.
Loss at home to Manhattan was not good tho.
