This cop was serving a warrant to one of the dog owner's neighbors when the dog came up to him supposedly showing his teeth when the officer drew his weapon and killed the dog.

I can't believe that this guy had no other option than to shoot the dog. I mean....wow. wtf?...he shot a wiener dog.

I don't know what you're getting at here. But if it's that this guy just lost a dog that he loved because of a really random act and is upset about it, then I agree that it sums it up.

i'm with you 100% - i can't imagine how hard it would be to deal with a cop shooting my 11-yr-old relatively harmless little dog - even moreso since they're backing the cop in this situation and nothing's being done to reprimand the officer - def a fucked up situation

Yeah. I don't have a link for this, but I heard on another news station that the Danville Police department took some heat once before because of shooting dogs. I'll look around for a story on it...I think they killed six dogs, and as a result, the officers had to undergo training from the humane society on how to deal with these situations without shooting the animals.

esp the miniature <11 lb version - if a cop can't figure out that a <11 lb dog doesn't pose great danger... jeez - let's hope no one ever comes up on him from behind and surprises him accidentally

for real. I still can't believe the first thing the guy thought to do was grab his weapon. That just scares me.

I've spent a lot of time in Danville, and if I was serving warrants in certain parts of that town, I'd shoot anything that moved.

As a mailman I wish the cops would shoot every dog they encounter. Fucking mongrels!
