  1. dont follow horses at all, but bovada gave me some free money and feel like sweating on some ponies during the big race. post some good pics, maybe a good trifecta or whatever. tim collishaw(sp) said he liked went the day well to win

  3. Not a sexy pick to ride chalk, but I think Bodemeister is just a flat out freak - the fact that he held 2nd after that pace in the Derby is insane. On the other hand, he shows the profile of a horse that is primed for a bounce, but if today isn't the bounce day, the rest will all be looking at his ass in the stretch.
  4. ugh, race is basically unbettable.

2 chalks that look to tower over the rest of the field. I was tempted to go 50 WP on Zetterholm or Teeth of the Dog but I don't think I will...

Was my Derby horse - I'll be a sad panda if I was 1 race off.

I agree he is a monster which is why the handle for this race will be small, so instead of betting seriously just go long shots and enjoy the race.
  9. 5- Went The Day Well (morning line 6-1). Send it in. I haven't liked a horse this much in a major race since I gave out Stephanie's Kitten who won on Breeder's Cup Day last year.

Closed really well in the Derby, but not sure how much of that was due to the scorching pace. If you look at his PPs, he has been terrifically managed since coming to the US, which i guess is no surprise considering Motion is a fantastic trainer.

Optimizer ran into trouble in the Derby just when he would have been expected to be unleashing his closing kick - his final showing is very misleading, but suspect he would need a furious duel up front to set him up - and Pimlico isn't the kindest to horses trying to make a late sweeping close.

Agree with him closing into that scorching pace, but if you take a closer look at his normal running style he is most definitely a stalker and not a one-run closer type--but obv on Derby Day where 75%+ of the field encounters some sort of troubled trip he was forced into that move. I envision him laying 4th or so today. I agree with what you said earlier about Bodemeister no doubt being the fastest of this group of 3 yr olds, but I think he is going to bounce to the moon off that monster effort in the Derby two weeks ago. Plus I think that one or two of the cheaper "speed types" are going to try and go with him. To be honest, I threw him out totally off all of my tickets.

Also, if you watch the replay of the Derby take a look at how the top 4 finishers galloped out after the wire. Went The Day Well was moving so much better that he was almost taking two strides for the other 3 horses one stride, it was ridiculous. And like you mentioned about Motion (who won KY Derby last yr with Animal Kingdom) he is not only a top all around trainer, but he isn't the type to just ship his horses for the sake of running. He has the balls to tell his owners when a spot isn't right for a particular horse, which a lot of these trainers wont do on these big race days. It's also very encouraging to see the nice amount of early support he is getting at the windows, he was 9-2 last I checked about 20 minutes ago.

  17. For a long shot - Zetterholm has been showing improvements and appears to have closing speed. Will be putting him in a few supers along with the favorites.

  18. 5/7/8 trifecta box
  19. live streaming link anyone?

  20. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/

Says they will be having a live feed.

  21. As funny as it sounds, I think I'll Have Another is being over looked. 3-1 is good value. I also like Cozetti at 30-1 to hit the board.

The race really sets up for Bodemeister, but I just feel a bounce here
  22. ty

  23. Had the 2 and the 5 in 9 and 10. need the 4 in race 11 (singled :holds breath:) and then I have 5-9 + 11 in 12th. Lets make some fuckin money for a change.

I'm pondering a combo of 5,7,9,6 for a super. I actually like cozettti (11) @ 30:1, be a sick pick 4 if it comes in.
  24. I have $24 and want to play a $1 superfecta boxed. Any ideas?
  25. I think 579 and you can flip on the 6 or the 8
  26. 5,6,7,11
  27. Way to go NBC, zero coverage of the 300k turf race, that is being raced in the backround. Just keep telling us stories, that is what will help horseracing.

I'm firing away at Went the Day Well, gl everyone.
  28. Going with 5, 6, 7, 9

    brb
  29. $0.50 super 7 / 4 5 8 9 / 4 5 8 9 / 6 11
    $1 Tri 5 7 9 / 5 7 9 / 11
    $2 Ex 4 / 5 6 7 8 9

  30. $100 win on 4 and 5.
