  1. After watching the Ryan Moats video I would like to give my two cents. As a police officer for over 13 years, persently a detective, I am embarressed by the Dallas officer, but unfortunatly I see it too often. Getting a badge gives many officers the idea that they can act however they wish to act. There is a great responsibility in taking a persons freedom away and many officers thrive on that power. I have found that having compassion and putting yourself in an another persons shoes has been the greatest tool to any officer. The whole "us" against "them" attitude just builds hypocracy, which to me is the biggest problem. Practice what you preach and treat others how you would wish to be treated. For those of you who find yourself in a situation like Ryan Moats, do what he did, act mature, he addressed the officer as "sir" a few times, and after the incident is over address the incident accordingly. I don't buy into the whole Blue Line, that as a cop I have to support a cop even when he's wrong. I am tired of answering for bad cops because I control myself and want to be surrounded by good cops who do the RIGHT thing, whether other cops agree or not. Just my two cents, and remember cops are like any other profession, some are good, some are just bad. Hopefully incidents like this will send a message to all police officers that they better think their actions through.
  2. wheres bfactor?
  3. I was pulled over last week on my way to Phoenix by a county sheriff in Scottsdale.

Deputy: You don't have a license plate.

me: There's temp tag in the back window.

Deputy: Really? May I see your license, registration and proof of insurance?

me: Here's my license, the temporary registration from the dealer, the purchase documents and I didn't print my insurance card yet.

Deputy: Thank you. I don't need the purchase documents

He proceeds to look at the temp tag in the back window and write down something them proceeds to his vehicle where I can see him on the radio and or computer. After about 15 minutes a police tow truck appears behind him. After another 10 minutes he comes back and says my vehicle doesn't come up in his database. I tell him I don't have the title yet and it is probably still being processed and again offer him the buyer's order form and bill of sale. He says he doesn't need it. I say okay. He says he's gonna let it go this time.

I think to myself, "Let what go?" and say nothing.

He says, "Have a good day."

I still get to Sky Harbor in time to pick up southpaw16.

I should not have been stopped in the first place since my temp tag was clearly visible. The back window is tinted so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I suppose he could have "screwed me over" since it didn't come up in the database, but he apparently exercised common sense and sent me on my way.

    Just my recent experience.

Casino Arizona has a soft 5-150 spread cash game.
  4. paragraphs bro.
  5. Said it before, and I'll say it now. Many of the people who so desperately crave the authority that comes with a badge and a gun are the LAST people that should be trusted with same.
  6. that 5-150 game is nice, isn't it!?

i wish i would have known you were down here before you were on your way out of town, i hope you had a great time.

    thank you OP, good post.

i have a few stories regarding police officers that ill never share on here as they do no good for anyone.

officers are human. humans are flawed.
  7. From presonal history I find that 70% of all cops are on a power trip.

recent example- my brother is going 80 in a 70 on the hwy out of town, no bad weather, not many cars on the road. Local cop pulls him over, get license etc. Comes back with a ticket and my brother just kinda grits his teeth and dosnt say anything. Out of no were the cop goes ' if you got a fkn attitude we can settle this downtown'. My bro goes, what did I say? Cop keep running his mouth about locking him up and not letting him out till monday. So out of line it was funny, wish I had my video camera ready so bad.

Then again one of my HS friends is a cop and is cool as hell, just how you use your power I suppose.

I completely agree with this, and have been in several situations where I have had to tell a fellow officer he was in the wrong. Of course, I did so away from others involved while making sure things were done properly.

Thanks for your post. Post more.
