Can't wait till tomm this is the most pumped Ive been for a movie ever I'm pretty sure
-
i hope it doesnt disappoint, its getting a lot of hype...
-
I think it will be good and am excited to see it but really most pumped ever? I am more pumped for 3 other movies coming out this year alone The Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit and Django Unchained.

What is it that makes you so pumped; it looks very good but even the reviews so far have been meh. I hope it is better then its current RT score. -
I don't understand what all the hype is about.
Clearly the film has a massive marketing budget; I can't watch 5 minutes of tv on any channel without seeing an ad/promo/teaser for it. But I don't see why there is so much excitement about this film. Looks like a cross between "Aliens" and something like "Independence Day", but with better CGI.
idk, just doesn't look that good to me, but I didn't get all the hype for hunger games either. Both films look "meh" enough that I'll wait for DVD release.
Maybe I'm just not as enthused by previews that rely on seizure-inducing light flashes and obnoxious shrieking noises? -
It is a prequel of the original alien.

People forget aliens was the 2nd movie in the series. -
The name Ridley Scott do anything for you?

Absogoddamnlutely, and I'd rent it for that reason alone even if the film didn't look pretty decent (which it does, just not "zomg can't wait"). I guess my problem is that I'm just not a big sci-fi fan in general. I only enjoyed a small portion of the notable sci-fi films that have come out over the years.
Didn't know this was the prequel to Aliens tho. I've never watched Aliens, so I'll be sure to do that before renting Prometheus. -
It's RS's first sci fi film since Blade Runner, which is a classic, so thats why I'm excited. I don't pay too much attention trailers in cases like this, since they can be completely misleading. I never saw Drive until it came out on Blu ray since the trailer made it look so horrible.

But I am a huge fan of sci fi -
Saw it a few days ago - was thoroughly enjoyable, if a biiiit predictable. If you're comparing to the Alien films, i'd still say the first two films were better. (but they are two of my fav ever films)
-
Googles broken due to laziness is it correct to assume if I've never heard of this i most likely will not enjoy it. I'm guessing some type of Sci-fi
-
I'm not a scifi fan rly at all and haveht rly seen the trailer on tv but I saw the previews for it couple months ago in 3d at the theater and even if the story sux it looks like it would be badass to smoke couple blunts and just watch it for how cool it looks in 3d
-
Going to an IMAX 3D showing tonight at midnight. Yeah, I'm pretty pumped.
-
Going to see the 3D showing at Midnight. Can't wait!!!
Please don't suck! I've been waiting for this since around the New Year.
Now back to catching up on Jaybone.. -
ive been thinking it will be a meh movie, rentable but not something ill drive to see

saw the django unchained trailer yesterday, looks horrible despite leo being my fav actor. Fucking tarantino is incapable of making a serious movie anymore, all this tacky corny homage bullshit, this movie reeks of it.
Prometheus looks awesome and so does the hobbit and TDKR tho. -
Just got back from Prometheus. I enjoyed it.
-
Just saw it. It was good for entertainment. Crazy amount of plotholes/questions not answered though. Why did David poison Holloway? What did the intro have to do with anything? I could go on, but I'll leave it at that.
6/10 due to special effects & sheer entertainment value. -
I'm assuming a lot of it will be involved in the obvious sequel to this.

Agree with a few others. It was good but not great. The visuals/special effects were fantastic but they left the plot without a lot of answers to why things Happened or why they were happening.
Without giving spoilers I'll just say that for now.
7/10 -
It's a very atmospheric movie and if they ever made a Adapation of the Dead space game, this is how they would need to do it. It does not have as much horror and action as you would expect, but when it happens, man is it awesome. Plus the final scene of this movie will give any movie goer a boner.

Wasn't it obvious why he poisoned him? They were the only ones that wanted a baby on board and since his dad wanted to meet his maker, he thought this was a way to have it happen before he actually found one. plus why spoil it for others?

If you don't want spoilers, why would you come to a thread like this? Is it just supposed to be a list of people saying "x/10"?
My apologies. -
I'm confused. You compare it to Independence Day and Aliens but with better CGI then it doesn't look that good... did you not like those two movies?? Those are two of my favorites.

My apologies.
It's not like this is a weekly tv show that everyone watches at the same time and discusses as the show progresses. Some are planning to watch it and others haven't made up their minds, so we open a thread like this to see if it's getting a thumbs up or thumbs down. -
You could at least @type spoiler in ur post I mean fuck there's been like one showing at each theater so far so most ppl obv haven't seen it
